How much should I charge to un-disable iPhones?

No, I'm not offering an "unlocking phone service" to GBAtemp's members or anything of that sort. I recently unlocked a friend's iPhone that had the "iPhone is disabled. Connect to iTunes" screen. Now, people are asking me how much is my "service" to unlock their phones. I only did it once for my friend, but I might actually make a bit of money doing this. So I'm here for other's opinions. If you had a disabled iPhone and had no idea how to unlock it, how much would you pay someone to unlock it for you? Thanks.

How did you do this? Are you talking about the iCloud lock out? I tried to do this before but there was only some temporary fix.

I honestly don't know how my friend got the error because I've never even had my own Apple device. On the lock screen, the phone said "iPhone is disabled. Connect to iTunes." (This screen.) All I did was follow the tutorial on this video to fix it. I just had to install iTunes on my PC, reboot and connect the phone to the computer, update iOS and factory reset. It wasn't hard.

From that description, sounds like a dipshit should be able to do it, so take 'em for all you can! :D

So, you did exactly what Apple tells you to do on their support site. What shocks me is that there are iPhone owners who don't know what to do.

I think that they're too afraid or lazy to look into it themselves. Also, I think these people that would rather pay someone to do an easy fix are the ones that don't even know the difference between Samsung and Android.

This is like scamming someone... You should do it for free. Your reputation will be good. Cause the problem with this is if someone payed you and realized how easy it was then told everyone who was your customer or who thought to buy from you, it would just ruin your reputation.

That's why I've been reluctant on trying it out. I'm honestly not sure how feasible this could be.

Why? Why does this surprise you? Just because you, and probably most of your friends, are comfortable plugging phones into computers and running software to fix issues, you think that everyone else in the world should be??

This is bullshit. If if really was "easy" then they'd do it themselves. Zero seems to think that your time and expertise has no monetary value... He's wrong. Your time is worth whatever people are willing to pay for it.

As for how much you should charge.... Go to an independent phone shop without a phone in hand, tell them that you have an iPhone with said probalem and ask how much it would cost to get it fixed. Then set your price a little lower.

I said it could ruin his reputation nothing about his time or expertise. So I can't be wrong about something I never said lol. It was just a suggestion he can do what he wants, but I talk from personal experience with these services.

Ah OK. We're talking about different types of lockouts then.
