PS: TL;DR go to the red question
So i'm a linux guy, but there is something that is anyoying me a lot lately
see, touchscreen are appearing about everywhere now and a lot of devices have one
some devices even have a touchscreen as the only way to "talk" to it (ex phones, tablets, smartwatches)
but we find more and more 2 in ones to (ex surfaces linupe and their knockofs), windows tablets etc..
I like microsoft's hardware and i love the tablet form factor
the thing is they don't run on linux
but they all could ...
So why don't i or anyone else install linux on them
-> linux isn't touch friendly AT ALL !
even though it do support touchscreen inputs
So as a dev i though it was possible to fix that but i ain't gonna work for such a big thing that i will be the only one to use / develop
Plus all linux DE feel old and crapy
So here is the question :
Is anyone interested as an open source desktop / windows environment which's main goal is to be touch friendly, visually appealing and modern and can be used confortably (aka without any hassle) only by using a touch screen but work as well without one ( as any other de)
Its main goal will be :
- Touch support and touch oriented (Should be more touch friendly than android, every action should be doable using only the touchscreen but also time gaining, so it would take less time using touch than using mouse and keyboard on a normal de)
- Minimalist
- Flat design (by default but optional)
- Modern UI and visually appealing
- Customisable
- Scriptable
- A normal version with nice visual effects
- Another version as low on ressources as possible but with still the core fonctionalities
And of course :
- No bloatware, just the necesary
- The least possible dependencies
- Lightweight
- A funky name and logo
Developed in C or C++
