So now that YouTube is ruined, what's next?

Now that a lot of creators are making fewer videos due to the "ad-pocalypse" What do you guys think will happen? Are there any viable alternatives, or do you think a new platform will pop up out of nowhere?

Eh I don't think it's necessarily ruined. New content is being pushed out and such. But I guess you could say it isn't as good as before. I personally have not seen any differences though. Many youtubers are also using Patreon which I guess helps them out quite a bit.

No , Youtube is not dead , meanwhile some youtubers keep with their clickbait videos and idiots go to see them and the creators get paid , Youtube will be here for a long time.
Besides its the most viable video platform , and just saying it will end out of nowhere is just non-sense.

Companies are pulling their ads from YouTube because their ads might just show up on vulgar content and they think that the people seeing that ad may get the wrong message, which means that content creators don't get paid.

They could, but that would be stupid. I would rather prefer a person I watch to make regular videos then have them do some streams.

Several companies took ads away from youtube en masse, stating their ads were put together with unsuitable content.
Due to this the amount of ads displayed on videos was reduced and new criteria was put into action to decide which videos get ads (from here the family friendly jokes, but the algorithms are unknown to the public).
The end result is that most creators saw their income fall abruptly and massively to the point they have stopped making new videos and either moved to new platforms or just seek for some other way of income (the rents need to be payed).
You can see this if you watched youtube in the past, the new videos from many people have just vanished.

It wouldn't be stupid considering people can interact with the streamer without waiting for "the next video" and hoping they contributed. And the VOD is always available afterwards (When it processes, that is).

I don't take any pride in it, I just enable it out of avoiding ads, pure and simple. As for "killing" channels, I don't really go on Youtube a lot, following really only 2 channels, both pumping out content quite frequently and thus not affected by this ad thing. Other consumption in Youtube is through various videos, extended video game music loops, music videos, miscellaneous stuff. Can't ad-block on phone, and I stomach through ads there.

It is OK, it is only that I feel Fremdscham when I see someone boasting about things like "I am so above you all, I pirate instead of spending my money", "I am so bright, I use adblocker instead of watching ads", etc. As if they didn't realize that the other people are not stupid, and if they do pay or don't block ads it is because of their own volition.
