I'll preface this by saying this is just a question to determine if there would be any support on the website to theoretically donate money for a dev's time and effort in developing a method by which it was possible to either access the vwii with the gamepad as a controller or boot vwii homebrew using custom fw and cios that come with wii vc gameson eshop. No dev to my knowledge has expressed interest, but as a followup to the conversation started in https://gbatemp.net/threads/wiiu-gamepad-on-vwii.470028/ I would like to ask the community at large - If there was a dev, with a good reputation that was confident he or she could develop a way to do this using either of the two methods that pedro702 pointed out (reverse engineering the fw and cios in the wii vc games and the making one for the vwii, or cracking the header info and allowing sd and usb access from within those custom cios or fw) or any other method, would you be willing to contribute financially for that devs time and effort

*note-I'm not sure if I interpreted the latter method presented by pedro702 method correctly - you can reference the thread or correct me if you know better

Just, no. Don't pay people to release a certain program. It will be released when it does

it makes no sense, an used wii (in great cond.) costs like a box of biscuits, we all can afford it, just get one and we dont even need to worry about compatibilities issues ...

so devs will get a shit from me

I'll gladly donate 20 bucks to someone who can get it done, but as to paying in advance, I'd only give it to about a handful of reliable devs (whom usually aren't in it for the money to begin with).

And perhaps proper GameCube support would be better to start with. These have straightforward buttons (with wii, you might want to specify the exact goal, as screen pointing and shaking are probably harder to achieve)

hmm... nintendont is not good for you? lol you cant get any better than that for gc support, also if the gamepad is figured out for wii games it would be a breeze to add it to nintendont once you know the code calls and cios needed or whatever method people use to make it work.

If the gamepad is enabled by default as a CCP inside vWii, that would make it instantly compatible with Nintendont.

well not really, since not even fake CC work and some wiimotes dont either, since nintendont is very picky with controller, but of course i bet fix94 could hardcode to that fake CC signals.

Of course it is. That doesn't change my opinion, though: if it would work in nintendont, it would work for nearly all games. You can't say the same for most wii games, as they usually require screen pointing and/or shaking of the wiimote. While these could theoretically get an alternative on the wiiu gamepad, it's more figuring out and getting done than a basic remapping of the keys (classic controller->gamepad).

Nope. The gamepad is less comfortable than the pro controller and doesn't display the colour red properly because of some shitty compression algorithm. Even if such a hack does get released I won't be using it.

It does display color red just fine. Just turn your shitty brightness all the way up and stop complaining jesus.

To OP, nah. I would play for something like PPC Dynarec Core and not for just a thing we can find in 3 days. Just wait till people manage to discover module VC games use.

when people talk about gamepad on vwii its obvious it wouldnt mimik the wiimote but the CC so ony for homebrew/games that use the CC lol.

Totally. Though sorry but I don't have any convenient payment method. So I could probably gift Steam games or whatever but not give money through paypal or I don't know what.

I don't want to sound too cynic, but...do you really think you can speak for every gbatemper on that?
I'm willing to bet that within the first page of an announcement, someone will already complain that galaxy, super paper mario, donkey kong country returns or even wii sports doesn't work properly. And it's not even a retarded complaint either: just look at the list of wii games that use the classic controller. While it certainly has some nice games on 'em, it's but a fraction of the wii catalog. And - my guess - not the games the audience are really wanting to play.

Actually it doesn't. Try playing Breath of the Wild on a gamepad and look at the hearts in the top left: the yellow hearts look perfectly smooth while the red ones look super pixelated.
