Does your local doctor/clinic still give out treats after your visit?

Do you get treats for doctor visits?

I dunno if this is common for most people but when I was young, this used to be a thing, is not much, maybe some lolipops, cookies or fruit, but I noticed it doesn't happen anymore, I still visit the same place, and even though I'm not a kid anymore, even other people don't get it. So I was curious if you ever gotten any or still do, or least the place do for others. Yes I know is mostly a kid thing but I'm not so sure.

(Okay I messed up the title. Should be "Does your doctor at your local clinic/hospital still give out treats?")

Umm if a person in a bad mood is giving you a bloodtest, i would hastely run and ask for another person. No offense but that person isn't in the position or state of mind to give a blood test that requires using precision needle injection to do it which can be potentially harmful O_O

Just my opinion anyway, but still next time just be careful, you showed bravery with that situation, even though it was a joke but is just me, thanks for sharing that though. :)

heh she did her job right... usually it's really hard to find my veins (once after several tries they had to call a nurse from the next service), but this lady did it easily...
she just was kinda "heh, i had been doing this all day, i am bored, and this guy comes with a bad joke, meh"

in the hollidays, someone gave a chocolate to the nurse as a gift, and she asked me if i wanted it because she doesn't eat that stuff.. i ended up accepting lel
i think in some dentists or private clinics they still give away candy (specially in dentists)
however in the public service (in here we have healtcare from the governament, usually free, or symbolic prices) you can forget it... sometimes there is a nurse or doctor that takes the iniciative and it's really nice, but it's from it's own pocket... even if candy is cheap as fuck, the service doesnt' want to pay for it

For a dentist to give candy is a big contradiction to his line of work, lol :P

Herr in German the doc from my too boys always gives a candy or a little toy after there treatment. Great guy buy the way. He knows them since birth and always enjoys our visits. I had 5 surgery's last year. Ended with metal screwed to my spine at the last one... I asked my doc if he could to me a video from the surgery.. So at the 3 surgery he put his gopro on and recorded that thing for me[emoji23] also a great guy. We share the same hobby so we always had a connection tovewch other and I would say by now he became a friend of mine. So... Yes there are doc's that really care for there Patients. exactly, they are private.. if they don't have costumers that come back, they would be out of the job..
also, toothbrush comercials "9 in every 10 dentists recommend our tooth paste"
it's another contradiction...

but the candy at the dentist makes sense.. after using their service, your teeth or\and tongue feel weird (it's super cleaned you can't taste much), so getting a candy is cool to make the tongue sensitivity coming to natural faster, it also holds your hunger from getting something that leaves stuff on your teeth like bread. at least it's what i believe..

I was taught candy will rot your teeth, which is why if you wanted something sweet to eat fruit instead. But that just me, I got lot to learn, but then again, I'm no dentist. :P
Fruit can be terrible for your teeth too, most fruit has a high sugar content and is also acidic, and both of those things are bad for the teeth.

Trust no one

Fruit has nearly as much sugar as lollies, it's only "better" for you because it comes with fibre and some vitamins/minerals too - meaning it satisfies hunger better and contributes to your nutrition. But the sugar is still a killer, people who eat too much fruit are as much at risk of diabetes as those that eat too many lollies.
To answer the original question, got a flu shot at work a few weeks ago and got a lollipop :-)

Different countries, different morals i guess? My idea is people say stuff like that is cause kids are more likely to enjoy eating candy than fruit, so to get them to stop they say things like this. Is more about how kids will not enjoy healthy food and enjoy unhealthy food in favor of their taste. Anything can be unhealthy if you over consume too much of it. I know that now but still their way of delivering a solid message is faulty with only relying on extreme conditioning with telling people things that is expected to follow. I can't help what people choose to use as moral or teachings but I can learn the truth and make my own decision to use it to better my health. :)

I only get things from the Dentist. Like a slinky, or parachute man, spinners or that gooey hand that you can stick on walls. But sadly i grew up. i probably could get a toy if i asked though.

Man, you guys got candy? If I was lucky, I got some sorta crappy glittery Barbie sticker, which my parents would happily stick onto my GBA SP. By the time I switched to another doctor when I became a teen, my poor GBA became a glittery nightmare abomination.
You don't like barbie? :ninja:
