New details of BOTW Season Pass DLC 1

New details of the first BOTW DLC have been revealed by Nintendo which include new costumes, new items and details about the upcoming hard mode!

Trial of the Sword
When you get to a certain sacred location, you can take on the new "Trial of the Sword" challenge. Face an onslaught of enemies, one wave after another. Link starts the challenge without any equipment or weapons. When all the enemies in a room are defeated, Link proceeds to the next. Clear all the trials (about 45 rooms in total), and the true power of the Master Sword awakens.

Hero's Path Mode
This new map feature shows the path Link has walked through Hyrule from the last 200 hours of gameplay. Use the time tracker bar to see where you've spent the most time and where you have yet to explore. There's bound to be more adventures and maybe a shrine or two on the road less traveled.

Hard Mode
In Hard Mode, enemies gradually regain health, so take them out as quickly as possible. All enemies are also powered up by one level. For example, Red Bokoblins in Normal mode are now Blue Bokoblins. Enemies can also have higher maximum levels than they would in Normal mode. Look up, and you may also find enemies and treasure chests in the sky!

Travel Medallion
Somewhere in the world, there is a chest with a Travel Medallion inside. When you use this, you can register your current location as a fast travel point on the map. You can only register one location using the Travel Medallion.

But but but it was a perfect game, how is adding some minor extra content going to make it even more perfect?
20/10

Very perfect game.

It's good to see Nintendo improving their BotW DLC packs but it won't be as good as the Story DLC.

Sounds like a waste of time and money to me. A bunch of fourth-wall-breaking costumes, some pointless add-ons that you definitely don't need if you've already beat it 100%, and random things like the Travel Medallion that nobody needs nor wants. Great. And this is why we can't buy the story DLC separately, so that we have to have all this crap forced on us?

But...

You can, I'm pretty sure?...

So I guess we aren't going to find out about the hard mode until it's out?

No sense in continuing my game if it requires starting over.

Wait, didn't Nintendo release an announcement awhile back, saying BOTW upcoming DLC will include a new story quest or story line, or something like that? Or are they going to say more about that when it's closer to release?

Once they were out you can purchase individually.
They haven't said that anywhere. If you're going to make a claim contrary to what we know, give us a source.

Can't wait for the game of the year edition to come out with it all included.
Nintendo don't usually make those. I wouldn't hold my breath.

We don't know for sure, but the rest of the details are in the OP:

nintendo rarely makes those i guess the closest we got was mk8 deluxe and new super mario bros u+luigi U.

Apart from those 2 games nintendo never made anything along of the lines of dlc included game of the year, its all worth that basicaly only wiiu games got actual dlc, imo the only wiiu agmes that would be worth a game of the year kind of edition with all dlc would be smash bros, pokken with the exclusive arcade fighters and maybe splatton with all the patches? is there any other nintendo exclsuives that got worthwhile dlc?

None at all besides those you mention and BotW, but that's on the Switch as well.
SSMB would be the best option for a "Deluxe" treatment on the Switch right now, I don't see Pokken getting revived anytime soon.

No one said specifically, but season pass was always available before any dlc was actually released. The same happened with Mario Kart 8, Hyrule Warriors, etc, and almost any third party.

But you're making an assumption and potentially spreading false information. For now, it can only be bought via the season pass and we have nothing to tell us otherwise at this point.

Kinda pointless to me because I already have all korok seeds, all map locations the only thing I'm looking forward to is the Trials and the Suits
