How should I convince my mum about adopting a sister?

I know a gaming forum might not be the best place to ask this, but I don't really have anywhere else to ask, so here I go.

I am an only child, and I really wanted a sister my whole life. I'd also love to have someone to play and interact with. Life is really boring like this, and basically all I can do is sit in front of my laptop all day.
I want to adopt a sister; how should I confront my mum about this?



Also, if you guys could keep all the incest shitposts out of here, that'd be great.

You're looking at this far too lightly.

Adopting a child is an immensely difficult thing which is both mentally, emotionally and physically draining for all involved. This is coupled with it being a lengthy process (at least in the UK). My boss at work adopted two girls several years ago and they have gone through a lot, not just in the adoption process but the additional emotional challenges because their girls had a very difficult start in life and they are working on helping their girls.

Why wouldn't you want a brother? It would always be awkward if you suddenly got a new sister who wasn't related to you.

I bet your mom would be more amenable to the idea as well.

You don't.
Just getting approved to be able to adopt children is an inmensely difficult task, let alone keep him/her.

Looking at your profile you're 16 - you won't be able to adopt anyone close to that age.
If you for some miracle manage to adopt someone yonger, it won't be the same thing as you'd have to take of her, etc. In a couple of months/years you'll completely "lost interest" in her.

Humans aren't like dogs where you can adopt one out of just wanting to, it takes commitment and actually wanting to have a kid, not a sister.

for better changes make sure to go with your mom and get the ugliest one..
i mean, if you gonna live with her, after a while she will not look that bad..

I can give you my old sister. (Lol no, she is unique). Having a sister is a nice experience, although, you might have fights sometimes... I really don't know how to convince your mum. Maybe by saying that you'll take care of her and that you feel lonely may help.

Believe me, having a sister is not that great.
I myself have one and sometimes she's boiling my blood. Otherwise, I talk with her or sometimes play with her. [She's older than me]

It's not bad having siblings. I have 4 however, and all of us game so it's not so bad (this is including a 3 year old) However, the internet is horribly slow at times and it's a literal battle over who's causing it.
Also, not really much point. If your mother wanted that burden she'd of done it already.
