Outside of the arcade version, unless it's been dumped and is playable via emulation, i don't think there is any way to play ddr x3 outside of the original arcade machine.
Favorite ddr game is the japanese version of ddr extreme with ddr max2 and ddr 5th mix as 2nd and 3rd favorites.

You're forgetting the 2013 release. I'd take 2014 over X3 any day, 2ndMIX mode was pretty much useless.
DDR A (the current release) is miles better than anything before in terms of gameplay since they redid the timing engine, but in terms of songlist I'd have to say DDRMAX2 AC.

I think a few of the early systems could benefit from that, at least up to the 8 bit generation, by the 16 bit generation I think TVs had gotten a lot better in almost every way
