1) Are there any in-game cheat plugins?

2) Is it possible to install custom firmware without any hardware modifications?
If not, is there a way to mod it without buying any extra hardware (e.g. like the battery modification for the PSP)?

3) Is an Xbox 360 Elite from around 2010-2012 able to have custom firmware?

1. Yes, only for RGH/JTAG consoles.
2. No, Flashing can be done with software only but you can only flash the DVD drive and load backups of retail games, no unsigned code.
3. DVD drive can be flashed, RGH can be applied.

Thank you for the reply.

1) Do they let you search for and edit values in-game, or are they just for applying known codes?

3) How difficult would it be to apply RGH?
Does it need extra hardware?

Do you know how the codes are found?

Is there a need to buy anything for that?

You can probably do some RAM hacking with a devkit or certain plugins.
No clue really as I don't cheat.

Yep, you'll need a JR programmer or NAND-X and a Ace 360 V3

I see.
That is a lot more than I was expecting...

Back to the DVD drive part, can it load modified games or original Xbox games?

You can load mod menu's in GTA 4, used for online cheating but again, I do not cheat so I wouldn't know ;p

But generally, no, you can only load ABGX verified retail backups.
Xkey same thing.
Original Xbox is possible but difficult as it involves mulleting the Xbox dvds if I'm not mistaken.
Never done it cus original xbox + having a hardware hacked 360.

So translations, mods (for Oblivion/Skyrim/etc.), or undubs are not possible with that?

As for Xbox games, what is "mulleting"?
Also, are modified games not possible there either?

Generally nope.
It's best to go for the RGH way if you really want mods and undubs and what not.
If you Dual NAND it, you could still use it on Live (albeit if you flash the DVD drive, you can only load backupped retail games)

I guess that I will just stay with an unmodified Xbox 360 then...

Thank you for answering my questions.

No prob~

If you're much into JRPGs etc, I highly recommend the PS3 over the 360, as it's a platform where more JRPGs have come out for.

I had a modded PS3 previously (it no longer has custom firmware), but I was mainly wanting mods for games like Fallout and TES (the PS3 does not do well with those games) and original Xbox games (e.g. Morrowind with the never miss and bug fixes mods)

It's likely but I wouldn't count much on it.
360 barely had homebrew and I doubt the Xbone will ever see it.
You can pretty much upload your own made programs to Microsoft with little effort these days.
Hence people had emulators on it.
