I don't think so. I know Gamecube can be played that way with Nintendont, but I'm unsure about Wii and highly doubt it. (assuming you want to use the Gamepad as the contoller)

So you can play nintendont with the gamepad buttons? I've never heard of that before, would be awesome though.

I'm pretty sure you can
No. you can't. The wii u gamepad doesn't work at all in vwii mode. But if you download wii games from nintendo eshop or use custom firmware and download those specific games that on eshop then i think you can play them with wii u gamepad.

No, but I have Super Mario Galaxy 2 (eShop ver.) and THAT won't work on the GamePad.
All Wii games downloaded from the eShop that support the Classic Controller also support the GamePad (with buttons), except Resident Evil 4. Super Mario Galaxy 2 does not support the Classic Controller and therefore the GamePad. You can still use it as a display, though.

...so I can play them watching the screen of the gamepad?
In Wii Menu (aka vWii) you can only watch the display in your Gamepad. You can't use it as controller the gamepad. just watch.
Same with vWii titles in eShop. (?)
Also, wrong section. this is in tutorials & guides threads, not in General.

If an eShop Wii game supports the GamePad, it will ask you if you would like to use it instead of the Wii remote.

One thing that just occurred to me.... The sound on the 2600 sucked less back then the harsh sound we hear now is from infinitely better speakers we have now, back when the 2600 was new speakers produced a almost muffled sound, like CRTs made old graphics look slightly better.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I wonder if I could recommend that to some emulation devs that perhaps the sound could use some smoothing out to simulate those old TVs
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think a few of the early systems could benefit from that, at least up to the 8 bit generation, by the 16 bit generation I think TVs had gotten a lot better in almost every way

it says it only works for the original R4, R4i Gold (r4ids.cn), R4iDSN (r4idsn.com) and Acekard R.P.G.

    nvm it does support mine

Just give it a try, but honestly if you have a 3DS you can play DS games without a card just off the internal SD card
