Here it is. For those of you that play Animal Crossing there are people who have wanted the original BGM for their game. It is possible due to Luma 7.0's LayeredFS feature. This was a project that was previously being worked on by other users but essentially I have picked up what was dropped and continued. Note: Not all the GCN music are in here and as such i've taken some of the City Folk BGM to pick up some of the slack. All I've done is make the patch ready to drag and drop. Will be updated as needed.

Prerequisites:
  • CFW with Luma 7.0
  • Copy of ACNL US,EU,JP (Yes even Welcome Amiibo will work)
  • Enough Sd card space for the files (Ideal for big SD cards)
  • Enable Game Patching in Luma Settings.
Instructions!
  1. Open your 3ds SD card
  2. Open Luma folder
  3. Create a titles folder
  4. Create a folder with the corresponding region titleID as the name Ex: 0004000000086300
-If your game indicates this logo AKA PRE-Welcome Amiibo (
wJuI9kJs6UtKe3PtEiNQMSOAt-aFDvUXleBRes3z69r6dqiRj4yraFJtdCECmrgpQcFgNA=s48
) then these are your IDs
US: 0004000000086300
EU: 0004000000086400
JP: 0004000000086200
-If your game indicates this logo AKA Welcome Amiibo Preinstalled (
4_nw8HAmQOcpyzrCRcUm21Q4ZrI_BmBvfloel1f_lKiloHTS9RywtlzDS95-S1liVy22=s48
) then these are your IDs
US: 0004000000198E00
EU: 0004000000198F00
JP: 0004000000198D00

Your SD card should look like this: SD:/luma/titles/TITLEID/romfs/Sound/stream.
Voila! You are finished! Save your work. Load up your game and you are ready to play!
Any further questions feel free to ask below!

Extra: If you'd like to replace BGM with your own. Please refer to the txt document. (Txt document attached to post is Outdated use linked one instead)

I don't have New Leaf but I loved the other games' music. Nice idea for a patch. :)

@Pickpickles: As far as I know, the SFX are in BCWAV format and archived in a BCSAR, so yes, they can be replaced with custom sounds, but each one needs to be exactly the same length as the sound it's replacing. That's because the sounds are referred to by their location in the BCSAR rather than any filenames.

I can't seem to get this to work. I have the latest version of Luma and am using the US 0004000000086300 version. I pretty sure I've placed the files in the correct place but the game crashes and forces my system to reset every time I launch the game.

Redo the steps.

I did all the steps but when I launch ACNL the game crashed and my 3ds has to restart. I redid the steps and it still happened. Are there any luma3ds options that i have to configure before starting ACNL?

Fixed it for you guys! sorry about that. Just enable game patching in your luma settings and you should be good to go.

hmm that's very weird should work are you sure you set up your folders correctly?
my folder structure is luma>titles>0004000000086300>romfs>sound>stream.
maybe it's the sounds files are bugged, there's no other reason the game should crash when trying to load.
