Hacking Reinand stopped working for me, Did I mess up?

So I haven't played my 3ds in a long time, I wanted to play my backed up cia's and they all worked fine, but one of them had an updated and I couldn't get the update until I updated my system, So I downloaded the lastest Reinand, put the files on my root sd. Launched into Reinand and to system settings and did a system update. Now the system launches into Reinand fine still but when I go to play a game my system just locks up.

Did I do something wrong?

You most likely just need to update to the latest version of ReiNAND from the repo. Are you running on sysNAND or emuNAND and what is OFW of the NAND you are running on?
Edit: Everyone is going to tell you to switch Luma3DS, you don't have to do that, so don't be pressured into doing so if you want to keep using reiNAND.

What are the benefits to Luma3ds? Does it give me the ability to use dlc without it getting uninstalled everytime I check out the eshop?

Yes, you messed up. You are using ReiNAND in 2017. Luma3DS is what the cool kids use now. It's previous name was AuReiNAND, a fork or ReiNAND. https://github.com/AuroraWright/Luma3DS/releases . Newest feature: built-in LayeredFS/RomFS support.

Edit: Also, what was your entry point for ReiNAND? Is your system A9LH'd? Is it O3DS or N3DS? Did you update to 11.4?

Are you using MenuHAX or A9LH? And interestingly enough my DLC seems to be fine after entering the eShop with ReiNAND (which is what I am running now.)

There is no reason to push Luma3DS when ReiNAND is still being actively worked on.

Please actually help the user instead of spamming Luma3DS. You aren't helping your cause, you are just creating resentment from devs.

I see a lot of people talking about purple screen, but not a lot of people talking about fixing the issue. Most of the older guides just suggest re-doing the menuHAX install or checking the payloads.
ReiNAND isn't completely A9LH, but I am going to suggest updating A9LH. You just need to follow this guide to setting up A9LH. The guide suggest Luma3DS, but you don't have to use that. Just going to to the ReiNAND thread and downloading the latest ReiNAND will work as well.

You complain about people not helping others, and then offer something that is impossible. Buddy, this isn't going to be possible. OP is on 11.4 and has no A9LH on his system thus far. You can't downgrade from 11.4 so OP can never load up 2.1 to get his OTP (and I don't recommend OP attempting OTPLess).

The ONLY thing OP can do with his system right now is run NinjaHax or doodlebomb. But I'm pretty sure either will only get you userland access.

To my knowledge, OP cannot undo what he did and cannot continue to use "CFW" unless OP did A9LH. Based on what OP said, he didn't.

And to add to my post, I am not upset that people are suggesting Luma3DS. It's that ReiNAND is still an active project, with 2 active devs and an active tester behind the project. There's no reason to spam the OP with, "Just use Luma3DS" when reiNAND is still an active project. If this were a few months months ago, I would have suggested a new CFW, but that's not the case.
I am only suggesting A9LH for one simple reason, the error they are getting suggest re-installing MenuHAX. If one were to go through the process of re-doing Menuhax, they might as well install A9LH instead. I mean you are already working on the system, you might as well spend the extra minute doing an upgrade. Of course the OP can just re-install MenuHAX if they want

So since you read the thread you read when I asked OP if they were A9LH'd in the exact post you mention.

I'm sorry if you cannot determine what is humor and what is serious. Also, I don't care how you felt. I know what transpired and to me, that's all that matters. But thanks for pointing that out while offering nothing new to OP.

Not everyone likes that though. Personally if I am not running Corbenik, I am running ReiNAND instead because it's clean and simple and has the patches I want/need. It's not to say Luma3DS is bad, but it has far more options I don't use to warrant me using it. This is also why I use Corbenik because even though it has those options, I can just straight up remove/disable them.

Now I really don't want to turn this thread into a this CFW war, so I am going to leave my comments to the suggestion I gave above. Of course the OP still has the option to do a clean install of Menuhax as well. But I am going to send the OP a quick PM to test something.
