Hey Translation Team!

First and foremost, thank you so much for the translation project! I have been playing this completely in Jap for a few years now, and despite completing it already, having a translation is wonderful as it allowed me to better understand the scenes :D (certain aspects of the game contained chinese characters and allowed me to infer their meaning). I am curious about some aspects of this project, is the project still open for minor edits (i.e. the pilot stats showing CMD while their training shows Lead, or pilot's Reaction stat being named as AVD) or was that intentional due to the inherent function of the stat? Another question is whether the HD texture pack will be expanded further?

Thanks again (:

Hello Hauryu, and welcome to the Forum!

Its great to hear that you enjoy the translation.
The abbreviations were chosen to best respect the function of the stats, but otherwise we do collect and fix errors in the translation.
I'm working on expanding the HD texture pack further. Thanks to a new feature that was added to PPSSPPs custom texture function (a big thanks to @akanerin7 for this) higher resolution textures can be added for unit attacks and the map sprites. The current work affects all battle animations that existed since SD Gundam Wars, and all map sprites that were included in SD Gundam World, as these games had higher resolution images for the respective categories.

Hi guys!

First of all I'm thankful for the works here and surprised that this project is still potentially alive reading @danikk 's post above. How great!

I've got a few questions regarding this patch:
  1. Which Extra HQ texture should I use, the one on the first page (NPJH50681 170217.zip) or the one on danikk's post (NPJH50681 1.0.zip)?
  2. Where do I put the Wars Textures, I assume inside the extracted folder of one of the Extra HQ texture above?
  3. Am I able to use the Extra HQ texture without patching it with G Generation Overworld HQ Patch V1.5+1.2.xdelta?

You should use NPJH50681 170217.zip, as it is the newer one.

Where do I put the Wars Textures, I assume inside the extracted folder of one of the Extra HQ texture above?
the textures go to [PPSSPP dir]\memstick\PSP\Textures, so when ewtracted the NPJH50861 folder should be in the textures folder

Am I able to use the Extra HQ texture without patching it with G Generation Overworld HQ Patch V1.5+1.2.xdelta?
You only need to use the translation patch in order to use Extra HQ textures, and in fact you need to patch the original iso with the translation. Also the Extra HQ patch won't work with the original iso. without either the HQ or translation patch applied.

Good news ladies and gentlemen! The Vita scene recently had the user-friendly PSP emulator known as Adrenaline updated to Version 4.0 today. One of the things mentioned in it's bug fixes talks about unlocking all of the PSP's internal features such as PSX emulation and more RAM with the note "Should fix translated isos that failed to start properly" And well, I tested it and sure enough....

The translated G Generation Overworld iso works! As far as I can tell playing it, it runs without any issues whatsoever! Happy hunting.

Neat. This project has been seen all the way through. I know I'm months late (considering I used to lurk this thread years ago), but thanks for your hard work. Works fine on my psp-3000. I'll try running it on emulators for other platforms, notably the xbox one.

Dev mode runs quite a large number of emulators. This patched iso of Gundam G Generation Overworld runs smoothly on it as well. Solid 30 fps.

@danikk maybe the intro post of this thread could be updated to reflect that? (It still says not to use Adrenaline. ;) )

Quick question to anyone here who has the Eng sub version of Genisis on PS4, is the names/gunams/items all in english or is it just the menus and subs for cut scenes. I really want to get it but if the items and stuff arnt in english i cant play as well. care not about audio, i prefer jap voice acting anyways just need to make sure that all text is in English before i buy it.

I have Vita version, but it's shouldn't be too different.
Full English text, even "additional" material, but quite a bit inconsistency in names. Like different part of translation done by people who didn't seen other parts (which is most likely is case).
Some in-game cut-in videos have subs, some didn't. Also there is has been couple of times when only audio dialogues is played (still on map) they are not subbed too.

Overall, I am a bit disappointed in this one, this is pretty much retelling of UC games and anime series WHERE SOMETIMES (1-st missions of every route so far) you are forced to play only with units already in map. This missions also incredibly easy with only one exception (which on same level as SD Gundam G Generation World's first mission) so what is the point? People who telling than briefing before game too long is lying, but it's still sad that skipping locked until you beat the stage.

I like big battles here and some new and "included again" mechanic, music on Vita is just much better. Most of new mechanics i like with the exception of two things:

1)Group attack, which is looking very cool but pretty much useless (with only exception of couple of DLC stages). Probably still better than attacking only one enemy by ship weapon, but I prefer ship weapon multitarget from Overworld.

2)And most annoying for me, great limitation of character skills. This is re-included in the series again so you didn't have nearly as much freedom as in the Overworld here. Sad.

Overall, game pretty solid as SRPG, if you need it as SRPG with familiar characters then buy it. But in my opinion it is a bit overpriced. All this licensees, no doubts.

Gundam Breaker 3 Bursts is best Gundam game yet in my opinion and Gihren Greed series (which is not translated, sadly) is better as SRPG.

Cheers Beta
Ehm, please do not cut nickname in such a way. It's just when I first tried to use simple "Xenon" it is already have been nickname and pretty famous already (this is nickname of woman who patched Star Wars Kotor among other things). But I still wanted to use this fascinating chemical element what have it's etymology from the greek world "outsider" in nickname. And since beta is second letter of greek alphabet...

I have a new born baby and spend most of my time on the couch watching over him while he sleeps so i need games to occupy me.
Congratulation with a kid. Do not play multiplayer games while looking for him :)

I don't know. VS series while good games, is not progressed much in plan of gameplay in the last years. They have a bit more realistic atmosphere since mechas is created only from their own parts (aside of couple of "guests" in some games) and you can't see some ridiculous combinations of mismatched parts of different universes, and no gunpla storyline, but fight itself seems a little bit less interesting, stages is constant and so quickly become boring. Very limited (or lack thereof, depend on entry) customization of mechsuit after you seen capability of Breaker is just make me cringe.

Maybe you had bad experience with Gundam Breaker 2?

Im not really a fan of kitbashing, neve rhave been which is essentially what the breaker series is all about. I have had excellent experiences with the VS series though, some fond memories of split screening with mates on Alliance VS zaft 2 plus, so i spose im just biased towards it myself.

Thanks for the translation on the game! been waiting for a G generation to be translated into English.

Anyways I have a problem for the Android version of PPSSPP. I'm running on a Galaxy S8 and run other games fine at 60 fps. But in this game, battle scenes have weird misplaced images.(Posted below)
Tried changing the Rendering resolution to 1x psp but had no effect. Turning off upscale messes up the sprites to be broken into pieces and ruins the game's quality. Would be grateful if anyone could help me out and what settings I should use to fix this?Would also note this works perfectly in my PC, only my phone had this kind of problem
