Hacking 2 hacked consoles transfer of games/saves

okay so I have 1 console that I've been using w/ my 128GB card and all my games and saves CFW etc yada yada Luma, I just picked up another 3DS XL not hacked but can be so I will CFW that, after its CFW ready can I Just eject my current 128GB card place into the other new 3DS and continue on with my games/saves/themes etc, layout. Or will I be screwed.

Yeah I don't know a lot about this but I do know that simply transferring and SD will not work. Like @DrCrygor07 said you'll probably need to do some kind of system transfer with a nand backup

The saves are console specific and encrypted to that device. But it's not that difficult to move saves. You have CFW after all. Get JKSM, back up the saves of your games. On new console, get JKSM again and load the saves back into the games. Bam you're done. Just pay attention to the fact that some games store their save data in the extdata, instead of the normal data. One such game that comes to mind would be MHGen.

You should be able to use the game files from the other console as well, but they won't show up until you re-install their tickets. You can use Tikshop or something along those lines of installing only their tickets.

Unfortunately it doesn't work like that. Games and saves are encrypted to the system, and as a result they'll only work for that system. To work around this, you can dump these games as decrypted CIAs and install them on the new system via FBI. With saves, use JKSM.

Hack the new 3DS with the 4GB whatever, pop in my old 128GB into the new one, then I install JKSM CIA I assume through FBI, also download a TikShop, then inject my title keys so the icons show back up on the launcher for the games, then use JKSM to import saves and call it a day? Just trying to plan ahead, it comes Thursday

Pretty much that. You have to launch the games first before you can inject saves into them though, I believe. At least I had to do it to Fire Emblem Fates the other day when I restored a backed up save.

Make sure you move NAND backups and OTP.bin from the 128GB card elsewhere, and DELETE THEM on that 128GB card. While restoring a NAND backup from a different console to that would not be the end because you have A9LH, messing with A9LH with your unique otp.bin would definitely be a brick.

yeah my OPT and NAND are already on my PC for my current setup and off my SD, my plan was to make a new SD specifically for CFW'ing the new console im picking up, move over the files opt and nand and cloud them after, THEN process to switch my primary card into it and do title keys, launch games and inject saves back

Okay well, @Quantumcat just corrected me in the other thread. Apparently games are encrypted as well, so transferring the files would be pointless. You'll have to re-install your titles and games on the new console, so don't transfer your files over as that would be simply waste of space. You can forget Tikshop. Backing up your saves and injecting them into the games on the other console is still a thing though, so all you need now is JKSM and some time to re-download everything on the new console.

thank you! That's gonna be a pain in the a$$ but I guess worth it. I worry about image burn as Freeshop would be open for probably 8 hours downloading LOL and the bottom IPS screen stays on but dim.

Well you could download the .CIA's on your PC if you wanted with a desktop "freeShop"-type of application, and transfer them to your SD card, and finally install them. Not sure if screenburn is actually a thing though .. Iv'e had my 3DS open for hours and hours when moving files on FTPD, or when using freeShop and nothing's happened.

The desktop application is Wii U Usb Helper if you're curious. And don't let the name fool you .. can use it for 3DS games too, but you have to compile them into CIA's after downloading thru the same program so not sure if it's worth the trouble.

Could you backup TIKs through FBI as well?, just trying to think of all the easiest routes without having to redownload all games as they are on the SD card already and I don't want to format 128GB as it takes 2 hours.

The tiks are irrelevant because the tiks are installed when you install the game. You have to re-download the games because the game files are encrypted and specific to the console they were on. If I understood correctly what Quantumcat said, you can only transfer games to another console with a system transfer. Even though you don't own the titles, the files should be transferred and they'd become encrypted and tied into that new console instead. THEN you could re-install the tiks. But for that you'd need another big SD card like the one you have right now.

You don't need to format your SD card, all of the games are in the Nintendo 3DS folder. Just simply delete that folder as a whole if you end up going for the re-download route. (Back up your saves first..).

yeah instructions he gave me were

• Install a9lh on new console
• Make NAND backups of both and keep in a safe place (not necessary but good practice)
• Backup saves on old console with JKSM and keep the JKSM folder in a safe place (not necessary but good practice)
• Leave SD cards in original consoles
• Perform a system transfer from the old console to the new one, following all instructions given including when to move SD cards, failure to do this will result in lost data
• Install tikShop on the new console
• Run tikShop
• Finished

and said that I don't need a big SD in the other console? So I guess when I transfer its gonna just reKEY everything on my current SD to make it not work in my old DS, then put the big SD in the new DS after and it'll know its new home, is the idea... correct me if im wrong as i only have 1 128GB sd card with all my crap on it now, and im gonna use the standard 4gb card in the other new console to CFW it.

Last question as "is this possible" as well. Yes this did work for me and thank you! Also I didn't have to export any saves or anything they were all just there from the SD, but this next one is for a friend who has 2 special editions, he wants to have a separate NNID on each console (yes thats possible). Also TikShop installed on each console as well, and then be able to swap back and forth the SD card between the consoles w/ all the games & saves, or not possible

Not possible. Except, you could do a system transfer from one to the other and restore the pre-transfer NAND backup on the source console. The downside is if both consoles go online at the same time they are both banned. And only one can log in with the NNID, the source console will have an error if you try to log in, because the console thinks it has the NNID but the servers disagree.
