the most important part of the mask are the filter.

those one have cotton filters, so it's pretty much like breathing trough a tshirt.

But you can buy one of those and then replace the filters with better ones
Well the second most important part is how it is sealed
if most of the air you breath don't pass through the filter
then you could have the best filters in the world, it ain't gonna change much ^^
But i think they are just costume or painting mask, not something really usefull against poisonous gases

If a gas grenade goes off, piss on your shirt and hold it on your mouth n nose.
Belgians, French, Canadians and Germans know everything about it.

As for painting masks/grinding masks, any cotton filter mask pretty much works.
It's mostly to filter out the fumes.

Those aren't gas masks, they are industrial protective masks. They will protect from large particles, like dust and paint droplets if you're spray-painting or airbrushing, but they're completely useless against gas. It's right in their names, too:
"Breathing-painting-work-and-dust-mask"
"Perspiration-Dust-Face-Guard"

If you fear a chemical attack you need to get some heavy duty stuff, not these.

Yeah, we Belgium people know everything about it, thanks to WWI

I worked in a chemical plant for 10 years with chemicals that could easily kill you with one or 2 breaths. Cotton filters DO NOT FILTER FUMES OR OIL PARTICULATES, you need charcoal. What you want is the P100 filter for oil particulates used in tandem with the proper color coded fume filter. They are combination filters. You should also get a smoke pencil, you light the wick and use the smoke to test if you have a good seal on your mask. It's funny when I see people using those cheap generic cotton masks with the rubber bands when painting. They do nothing for oil aerosol particulates or fumes. You are better off not wearing one.

These are the ones I used for Organic Vapors and particulates.

In extreme situation you should use a self contained breathing apparatus.

Why ? I understand your fear but it won't happen. Not that "you never know" or anything. Nah, it won't happen.

what you gonna use them for? for cleaning the house and general like wood sawing (or working at ikea) it is ok..
if you are worried about gas attacks or you know world war 3, well, i would stay away from ali express, i mean, i wouldn't trust cheap ass china quality to be effective, i would buy some shovels and start digging an underground bomb shelter, not only is the best way to protect against several types of attacks but you can even use it for pc gaming or as a porn video watching room with your friends

Just remember that most filters that will protect you from anything nasty that ever gets released will only last you around 8 hours or so per use in general so be sure to stock up on lots of sealed filters lol.
