As much as I would love to hate them for this, they needed the rave reviews. Badly. Imagine the sewage well they'd be in if BotW, the sole reason to have a switch for so many people, was actually a terrible game? Flaunting the scores over and over grants them some legitimacy and hope that their future games will be good.

Sony did this with the last of us, and I think microsoft did it with forza

And that is your opinion.
The framerate is just atrocious, even after the update it hasn't made a huge improvement overall. That's the point. When you're going to give a game a perfect score you need to consider everything.

Everyone is entitles to their X/X's opinion... But why does it have to be a topic besides the obvious "Hey, Nintendo has a strategy just like other companies".

That's because it DOES deserve nothing but the perfect score. Reviews with anything else are just attention seeking trolls.
Are you serious? Hard to tell.

In that aspect then you're saying Jim Sterling's review is a "attention seeking troll" which he isn't.

If frame rate determined scoring, then OoT would not have been king all this time.

It's more of an issue of reviewers completely ignoring flaws. Some mention the flaws but it doesn't affect the score they give it. I have seen games docked higher for the same issues. Or, to these reviewers, the game is so good that they can overlook them entirely.

Quite annoying, but I've seen other games rated highly, almost blindly, refusing to acknowledge the multitude of flaws in it. Botw is just the most prominent case.
