I have the latest cia version already. Only options in Extra are changing the amount of Play Coins.

According to Wolvan's Homebr3w app, the latest version is 2017-01-21.
Does the CIA version come with the link you gave me? And if so, is it the 2-10-2017 version you speak of?

Hey, can I ask you what you did or what guides you followed to get everything to work on your O3DS? All I really wanna do is use the save file editor for Monster Hunter Generations, but I'm in the same spot you were, where I'm kinda jumping into this whole hacking business late in the game and my 3DS is already updated to 11.3.0-36U. Since you seem to have gotten it to work though, I was just wondering if you could point me in the right direction with which programs you used and what steps you followed.

Same problem. JKSM crashes on a black and green screen (Black top, Green bottom) and just freezes. I can't find a solution to this. 11.3.0-36E.

Do you have 'custom firmware' on your 3DS or just homebrew? You will need custom firmware to install a .cia (It's not a file that you can load up with only homebrew), if you have not updated to the latest version of the 3DS (11.4) and are on 11.2, you can get custom firmware through Luma3DS. There is an entire guide on that. TL;DR: You don't put it in the 3ds folder because you have to install the .cia file through FBI which needs custom firmware.
