3DS 11.4 Firmware Update Available

0hnqi7q.png

Just today, Nintendo 3DS firmware 11.4.0-37 has been released. I saw no other posts on this so far, so I am posting it. Here is what I found so far has been either temporarily or permanently broken/patched.

BootNTR Selector: Working with latest version (2.7.3)

UDSploit: Patched

Soundhax: Patched (Finally Nintendo... Lmao)

Safehax: Doesn't work without UDSploit, so therefore broken.

11.4.0-37 fixes the slowdown bug for some games like OOT3D that 11.3.0-36 has introduced. Confirmed by @Feffe

Please let me know if anything else got patched. Yes, of course, if you have A9LH+Luma3DS, you can safely update.

Ugh... and here I am, wondering if/when it'll be possible to update past 11.2 already. It's annoying to get a nag to update system firmware literally every time I open the 3DS now. But can't, because luma and by extension, the GW A9LH stuff (.3ds game support, and the excellent cheats available).

updated to 11.4, backed up before hand using godmode. I have about 8 titles installed, but my backup was like 2GB is this normal? I thought it backed up the games too. I'm moving my backup to my PC and deleting off SD card, everything I use my 3DS for seems to work except HBL which I never use unless installing themes anyway....... lol

Yes, the nand chips aren't that big.

It only backups the NAND and the ticket titles of what's installed. Meaning if you install any new games, but restore the NAND to that particular backup, then those new games won't show up, because the NAND doesn't have the tickets for them.

Yes soundhax and hbl are broken.
ok. Got it. Updating the OP now.
Safehax works on 11.3 (kind of) now well at least that is what the creator said...
Yeah. I saw that. Unfortunately 11.4 patches UDSploit as said in the OP, so without arm11 kernel system access, we can't get into safehax since we need arm11k before exploiting arm9k.

>hbl is broken
Goddamn, not that I didn't expect it, but I always hate it when they patch it.
Yeah... Plus it's the most reliable and convenient way to get into hbl. Free (system title obviously), fast, effective, and best of all, launches offline. Ah well, a lot of us knew Nintendo was going to patch Soundhax eventually.. :/

Generally speaking as this is my first ever update with CFW. When do we usually see a HBL update we can download. Overwrite files and boot from home screen again ?

For those who can't be bothered to read a few pages or do a little research:
Smea released udsploit for 11.3 which is a arm11 kernel exploit. Along with that a bypass was found for safehax on 11.3, meaning we can also obtain arm9 kernel on 11.3. Essentially 11.3 will very shortly have the tools needed to downgrade and install CFW/A9LH. So if you are on 11.3 without a9lh, want to install a9lh and haven't updated, DON'T UPDATE.

Last time took less than a week. Only required that you use LUMAupdater latest hourly build. It was really impressive.

No sooner than 11.3 got broken, 11.4 pooped out. Figures...

So if you've got A9LH and Luma already, it's okay to update the firmware? I know, I ask this every time there's an update, but I just want to be careful.

Except... that they were released after 11.4 dropped... So probably were being held onto until the newest update...

looks like the dstwo+ card (NDS) has been blocked. (Luma3ds CFW 6.6)
Think that has to do with reboot patches.

It's safe to update. But if you use NTR, you'll need to wait for an update to that. HBL is also broken.
