Gaming I did not know there was a 4th star when upgrading armor...

So I originally thought that there were 3 stars of upgrades.. then I end up paying for 10,000 rupees for a fairy fountain and ended up upgrading the champions Tunic the metal armor and the barbarian and now I'm even more over powered than before. The knights armor totals to an astounding 84 defense points lol guess I need to do more upgrading.

Just hover the square over the thing your trying to upgrade and it'll show you what ingredients you lack.

I must say, that for the first 3 ingredients, I either already had the ingredients, or they were pretty easy to get. For the fourth though, it feels awfully grindy... Suddenly I have to have 15 of some flower... PER item, so that's 45 of them. besides some fruits and monster parts, I've never had that many of an ingredient. And the tracker of the sheikah tablet thing is only that good. (And hunting for Hightail lizards sucks lizardballs)

There are 4 great fairies in the game so it makes sense that armor can get upgraded to 4 stars.

Getting amiibo gear upgraded to 4 stars is a pain in the ass. Requires lots of star fragments.

Take a picture of one with the camera and set the sheika slate to search for it.

Still sucks, there is no indication of how far they are at all. So I mostly end up sneaking across the entire map in search of one (while the slate keeps beeping), only to end up chasing it away because some monster attacks me at the very last moment/

You'll end up completing all of the shrines and most if not all of the side quests before maxing out every single armor in the game. Some of the best armor in the game requires you to grind for horns and scales of a specific monster multiple times and these particular types of monsters will vanish every time you hit them making the grind extremely tedious. There's also the star fragments... geezus Nintendo why?

Not that it matters. Some of the armor provides a decent set bonus but you'll never really feel as though you need to max out your armor as you can finish the game regardless. I only wish the armor changed shape after maxing them out or provide a better set bonus but they don't.

Thats a contradiction, if you knew what the reward was for completing every shrine. Completing every shrine isnt even that time consuming compared to korok seeds which could take days/weeks.

I didnt upgrade the armor at all and I am not that good of a gamer. I still beat ganon with the ease.

i actually beat the game with just 3 upgrades on Hylian set and that's it. Once you get used to the attack patterns of enemies and at least master the perfect dodge/back-flip you'll be fine even without any upgrades..now im starting a new game coz i enjoyed it a lot.

I know what you get for completing every shrine since I have completed every shrine By the time I got that armor though I didn't feel like going out and farming everything else just to max it out. The set bonus isn't that great and overall the armor was a little underwhelming. I was expecting some bad ass armor or at the very least something a bit more uh heroic? Maybe something like magic armor?

Either way nothing comes close to farming korok seeds. I finished the game with (I think) over 140 hours with over 200 seeds and I really don't see me hunting down every last one.

I only have a couple pieces of armor upgraded to 4 stars.
I didn't get the last great fairy until after beating ganon, and I need a lot of star fragments, rare items from dragons and such to upgrade most of my gear. But it's not really that important, I just wish I could upgrade my Barbarian Armor to 4 star as it's my favorite armor in the game but the defense is kind of lacking with only 3 stars. Fuck hunting down those dragons though, any time I see them they're out of firing range and they're even faster than the paraglider so chasing after them is useless.

I had almost every set to 4 stars but not all of them. Felt useless to keep upgrading armors I barely use or don't use at all. Did get every armor to 3 stars though.

There are a ton of YouTube videos with clear instructions on how to farm, rupees, star fragments, dragon parts, and so on, one of my main goals is to collect and upgrade all the armor so there were very helpful, I'll probably put in a good 500+ hours before even thinking about finishing Ganon.

That whole cutscene is a bit... rapey, to be honest. Those great fairies get increasingly more creepy the further you upgrade your armor.
