Hi all, I have been playing start to finish through a lot of games from my childhood. All of them through the VC inject to .cia.

However one game in particular does not work on VC emulator (Young Indiana Jones Chronicles), it has issues with Y scroll and graphical glitches. This game actually wasnt emulated properly until years after NES emulation was in good shape. Nestopia fixed the issue in 2011.

How can I create a .cia file to install on my 3DS with using RetroArch instead of Nintendo VC inject?

There is a SNES app that does this, but not one for NES. So it doesnt seem like there is an easy way out. Anyone got a tutorial?

You cant make a retroarch forwarder of a single game. You have to load the retroarch core, then click the rom you want to load.

VC injects are nice when there's not a reliable emulator for the console you want to emulate but may I suggest using VirtuaNES. It's a new NES emulator made by bubble2k16 and it's probably the best way to play NES on the 3DS(same goes for his SNES emulator). I tested Young Indiana Jones for you and it runs flawlessly.

So you can do that for SNES but not NES? Why is that? I have several SNES games that dont run on VC (like Mario RPG or Shin Megami Tensei I) each as an individual .cia file/icon. When I run it it runs just like a VC would but they use retroArch. Why cant the same be done for NES?

How do I make a .cia with that emulator?

But I want it to show up as its own title like VC games do and RetroArch SNES games do. I dont want to run an emulator then select the game.
In that case you should wait for someone else to do a virtuanes forwarder. Your only solution for now is to stuck with the vc injects or you could just use an emulator like everybody else does.

It's probably a compatibility issue then, I don't know as I don't use anything but GBA injects on my 2DS. I gave you a way to play them, I even tested Young Indiana Jones and can tell you the glitches and control issues you stated aren't present. It plays flawlessly. I'm still playing it. Lol.

they didn't make an emulator that does that for nes yet. Snes doesn't use retroarch, it uses snes9x, which is it's own standalone snes emulator. The cia's are just forwarders for the roms. If somebody does the same for virtuanes, then you can do this.

Thats a bummer... surprised snes9x cant play NES games as well?

Maybe there is an IPS patch for this game or something that removes the shake.

Right... its just usually SNES emulators can also run NES games.. just like GBA emulators tend to also run GameBoy games.
Home computer based emulators sometimes do, but not all emulators. Heck original hardware SNES couldn't run NES games as the cartridges wouldn't fit!
