And this dumps the entire game as its needed to play? I assume based on the description of what it does, is its basically dumping the disc without all the middle man procedure that wudump requires?
It's the equivalent of if you were to run wudump, plug the SD card in your PC, combine the split files using a command, run wud2app on the combined WUD, delete the original WUD and put the SD card back in the Wii U, basically shortening a several step (not to mention slow) process into a much simpler one step process (two if you count installing)

So I tried dumping a game last night. It sits at this message: Inserted WUP-P-ASAE I let it sit for over three hours. Videos online show this but some indication of progress. Is this working right? or is it hanging?

Specifically BOTW I haven't had time to try a different disc. I was trying to dump my copy for use with CEMU. I tried disc2app as well as wudump. Both sit at the same message, which makes sense. Wondering if there is anything special with the BOTW disc.

At least one of them should make some progress. Did you check SD for any files? Also, try cleaning the disc and/or laser eye and try again, or try another disc if you can to verify it is not internal damage. Fwiw, it might have a tiny scratch that its getting stuck on when loading the disc, even though the wii u normally gets past it. Not much to suggest besides other apps.

Worse comes to worse you can download it from Nintendo's servers and just install/extract it since you can easily retrieve the ticket and own the game.

One thing that just occurred to me.... The sound on the 2600 sucked less back then the harsh sound we hear now is from infinitely better speakers we have now, back when the 2600 was new speakers produced a almost muffled sound, like CRTs made old graphics look slightly better.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I wonder if I could recommend that to some emulation devs that perhaps the sound could use some smoothing out to simulate those old TVs
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think a few of the early systems could benefit from that, at least up to the 8 bit generation, by the 16 bit generation I think TVs had gotten a lot better in almost every way

Just give it a try, but honestly if you have a 3DS you can play DS games without a card just off the internal SD card
