I am really sad and at the same time angry with myself that I found out too late about henkaku. Now my vita is at 3.63 and it's not really cheap where I live so I can't buy another one...

My question is, should I stay on 3.63 by not doing any future updates, or better just forget about the possibility of a new hack and keep updating it?

Well you can just stay on current firmware until you get info of something new. Most likely there won't be any more updates for while, giving chance to work on some possible things for the current firmware. Is not like is the end of the world. Just have patience, but if there is ever a reason to update like a new game comes out and requires it then is up to you. Sorry you are unlucky enough that this happen. But if you wanna wait for something that is consider a possibility as well as unknown date, is up to you. Is better you get as much use of the product you bought, you did buy it to use after all. Don't just not use it cause of one thing like henkaku. :)

Sell your Vita and buy a new or used one with 3.60 firmware

Unfortunately its not that easy here. I would have to try to sell it really cheap and probably no one will even buy it.

I really appreciate your answer, made me feel better. I was honestly thinking of stop using it just because I don't have henkaku. But you are right! I bought it to use it, and I do have some good games for it. Sure will, but with some sadness once in awhile.

(sorry if the english is a bit confusing)

You can play newer games on 3.63.

Doesn't spoofing makes you able to do that?

Are there any benefits of 3.63 that could make me feel even a little, little better?

No, spoofing doesn't mean you can play 3.63 games, it means that it can allow psn access. Also, is not about what makes you feel better about owning the system is the fact you paid for a game product and playing it is what you should do with it, regardless of homebrew possible exploits. I have a ps3 on 4.81, but i'm not gonna stop playing it cause i can't use a emulator, and i'm not gonna sell it and get a new one that can use homebrew. I paid $300 for it, i'm gonna play it like i have been for the past 5 years. (yes i still play it, good games on it) Keep using it like normal. If you really want exploits, i suggest you just keep a eye out for any information about it.

No thats only for PSN spoofing, it's impossible to install or play games meant for firmwares past 3.60 because they're signed with a specific key that nobody knows yet. People managed to get around it for a few months by porting the translations of japanese games that came out earlier but now even japanese games are coming out with 3.60+ firmwares in mind.

I'm in the same boat, stuck with a 3.63 vita i can't really sell (no serial sticker) and any replacement goes for 200+.

At least hopefully can get a cheap pstv before they're all gone.

Honestly... after I read your post I changed my mind about everything. You are totally right. This should not be a reason to not play my vita.

We still should be thankful we own a vita!

There is that. Plus at the moment it seems like all I'm missing out on is some homebrew stuff and piracy. ARK seems to handle most of my PSP stuff with one admittedly annoying exception. I've already got more games than my 64gb can hold. And the external usb support is only for PSTV, since the Vita lacks the necessary OTG capability.

Assuming of course that the motherboard I get isn't 3.61 or higher. Unlikely to be sure, but still a worry. The sites linked are out of stock on the mobo I need as well.

Does spoofing allows you to buy and play 3.60 or lower games from psn normally? Can you play online games with it too?

Being realistic, if they support it at all it'll be years. Unfortunately the Vita scene isn't large enough to spend time working on later firmwares, and Sony is more competent than nintendo.
