Homebrew Bought a used N3DSXL, said he removed freeshop to sell.

I found this ad on craigslist for the grey N3DSXL. I asked the seller what the firmware was on and he said, 11.2.0-35. So far so good. He then tells me that he removed freeshop to sell it to a broader audience. Do I mod as normal? Just getting into the 3DS scene. I have been in every other scene though haha. I'm new to modding the 3DS, not new to modding. Also, do I need to mess with opening the 3DS to access the microSD card or is there a better way?

Well, one way to check? Press and hold start while turning on the system.

If enters to Luma menu, you got a9lh installed on CTR nand. if no, then you are on 11.2, you need to go to 2.1 to get the OTP to install a9lh.

So... does it enter to luma menu?

Do I just leave the back off of the 3DS until I'm finished modding. I've only ever modded the 2DS, no 3DS or DS.

open system Settings and look at bottom right hand corner do you see 11.2 ? if so use the guide if you see 11.3 you got taken.

Yeah, it says its on 11.2.0-35, I will proceed as normal. I just don't know why he said he removed freeshop..

go into settings where it says the firmware version if it says "SYS" before the firmware version its has A9LH installed into nand already ... if that is the case then all you need to do is install everything for luma and any other payloads you may want such as decrypt9 and godmode9 and then inject the FBI program installer for CIA files into the health and safety app(FBI installs CIA .. that will never get old XD)

I've been trying to mod it but I keep getting black screened once I get to safehax

One way to know if it's hacked or not is look at the firmware and if it has Sys in the firmware it's hacked.

Turn it off, then hold select and turn it
back on...

If that doesn't work, hold R on bootup. Corbenik CFW uses that to boot into the menu, but I would uninstall Corbenik and use Luma or SaltFW if you're new..

If neither works, it's probably on SaltFW.
