Hacking Playing my old DS ROM's on a New 2DS

I used to play my DS ROM's on DS and DSxl's using a flash cart. on the last DSxl it would always freeze and I would have to take the microsd out and rename a directory to make it work again.

I not want to use those ROM's on a 2DS that would be purchased new in 2017.

What method should I use to make this work on a new 2DS with current firmware? I haven't done this stuff in a long time so I'm not familiar with the latest terminology.

You still need a flashcart. Recommended one is R4i Gold 3DS RTS from r4ids.cn.

I can recommend it, it's one of the best flashcarts on the market.
The cart you linked doesn't look like it works on 2DS/3DS.

Just an update the card came from that link above today and works perfect for DS games on my N3DS XL. Quite happy but don't know if i should keep my r4 dual core or this one now!
