A recent survey at the GDC17, which surveyed 4,500 developers, revealed that only 3% are working on a Switch game. PC and smartphones led the survey, with 53% and 38%, respectively. The console with most Devs working on it are the PS4/PS4Pro.

It's a lot easier right now to develop for something like mobile than Nintendo Switch.
I believe devs have said Nintendo is limiting the amount of indie devs to be allowed to dev for Switch, as to filter out low quality indie games early on.

I know that the axoim verge developer can't even get one atm for some reason, despite having released on Wii U already.
What percent of those devs are relavent?
I'm willing to say <10% out of the total 4500

Am I the only one worried about the high precentage for Mobile? Seriously... there is just shovelware on that platform.

3% out of 4500 developers are 135.

There are 1215 developers working on games for the PS4 then...
135 is still a lot, but... indie developers are a thing... and big companies and their AAA titles are another... so, i'm not sure what to think about it.

Currently? Nothing. There is absolutely no way that more than half of these in the survey weren't small time indie developers.

I'm impressed by the fact that Apple TV is still a thing. Huh.

Also, while I heavily dislike the console, we know nothing about this group of devs. Are they looking for new hardware or already established one? Because the Switch might be sold out everywhere but obviously there are far more PS4 players out there for now. It's just more likely that a game will be ported on anything than the Switch right now, it's normal. Unless Nintendo made porting easier (and it seems they did) and will also cut royalties as incentive. If you are so lazy, you can spend 20 bucks for a videogame maker and 100 more to let Steam upload it to the store. What can Nintendo offer to these people?

Although, seeing how bad the 3DS eshop is right now, maybe it's a good thing. No Football Up version for the Switch please [emoji38]
