Hello guys, i haven't used my 2DS in a long time (i think 8-9 months) and today i decided to play some games wih it again...

Before i begin i just want to say that i'm still using RxTools (yea i know)... Anyhow i updated the firmware (like always used to do), but this time w9hen i updated the firmware i cant boot up to EmuNAND anymore (SysNAND work if i remove the SD card)...
All i get is this screen

Everthing is black, nothing pops up...

Please help, what can i do? :(

Also is it possible to have Luma3DS with EmuNAND? :(

Just swap out RxTools with Luma3DS, as long as it still supports whatever entrypoint you were using. In the future, I strongly recommend following 3ds.guide to setup everything with A9LH in SysNAND

Yeah, update your CFW (which is using an old kernel, but the 11.3 operating system requires the 11.3 kernel)

Also is it possible to have Luma3DS with EmuNAND?
Of course, just don't select the "autoboot sysnand" in the options; but if you install A9LH and do NOT also use Gateway, emunand only brings disadvantages

This. If you do use Gateway as well, you can use a SysNAND-only setup if you're on 11.2, but on 11.3 SysNAND with A9LH you need an 11.2 EmuNAND (setup the EmuNAND before updating SysNAND).

Where is the guide? I used to save a guide, but it doesn't work anymore :(
Is there a "new" guide?

How will it bring disadvantages? I mean isn't it "better" to have EmuNAND instead of SysNAND?? With EmuNAND you don't mess around with the firmware and don't risk to update to the latest firmware and screw everything up... That's what i remember a long time ago.. I might be wrong though :D :P

My SysNAND is 9.2, wont that work? :(
I don't want to mess around with the SysNAND firmware :(

The hack/CFW that the above guide has you install will allow you to update your SysNAND normally without losing your CFW. You can still use EmuNAND if you want, but the disadvantage would be slower boot times and wasted SD space.

How will it bring disadvantages?
Wasted space on SD
Much more work to replace SD cards
Not compatible with DSiware
Not compatible with GBA mode
Slighly increased battery use, as the SD can't be stopped as long as the power is on
Impossible to run the console without SD card or to remove it with the power on

With EmuNAND you don't mess around with the firmware and don't risk to update to the latest firmware and screw everything up...
Non-issue if you use A9LH and a kernel-protecting CFW (all currently maintained ones except Gateway). You can update your system as much as you want with no risk of permanent damage (the risk is actually less than a non-modded system), and you can backup the nand at any time

I haven't been gaming for such a long time. Been mostly busy with sleep, hardware tinkering and checking GBAtemp frequently.

Hope you've had a good morning.

It's going alright thanks :) I know what you mean with gaming time. It's precious where I can get it these days.

That must be rough. Productive I'm sure but hard to balance with daily life

@Maximumbeans, Indeed. I've been working on getting this Infecutus chip to work on my PS2. But after soldering, I realised that a plastic piece was missing from the power ribbon cable to the power and eject buttons.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Now I could go with soldering the contacts from the cable to the connector on the mobo, but doesn't sound like a good permanent solution.
  • Maximumbeans @ Maximumbeans:
Man, that's beyond my brain  I'm no good with hardware for now. I'd like to get into hardmods in future though
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Maximumbeans, Maybe start practice soldering. Get a cheap-ass soldering iron and follow some good YouTube tutorials.

Least my experience has gotten better than over a decade ago. My iron would constantly bump into components and break them.
  • Maximumbeans @ Maximumbeans:
Sounds good. I actually did soldering but like 16 years ago for school so uuuuh probably rusty haha
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Maximumbeans, Same here. I did soldering at school from a teacher who I honestly liked since he had plenty of good electronics experience.
