Hacking [RELEASE] Wii U USB Helper, a small eShop for Windows !

Becuase of internet issues beyond my control I was forced to download some 3DS stuff on another PC and move them to my PC via a flash drive.

I stumbled upon the "import games" function and thought everything was good. Turns out it was only half good.

I was able to import any WiiU DLC/GMAES/UPDATES, however any 3DS related material will not import. Ive tried organizing the data/folders in different ways and searching from different points in the folder hierarchy, no dice.

Anybody got some advice? Does the import function not work for 3DS titles? I need to be able to pack them as CIAs for install and doin it trough the app seems to be the only solution.

Unless somebody knows of another way I can turn .app and .tik files to .cia?

Hello and thank you for using WII U USB Helper.
Unfortunately the import function is not yet compatible with 3ds titles.
That said, if you have downloaded them with Wii U USB Helper, the only thing you have to do is copy the "DATA_3DS" folder and place it alongside the WIIU's "DATA" folder.

I tried the "refresh" option and restarting. They are showing up as "Not Downloaded" and trying to pack CIA does nothing.

This is the first problem ive run into with WiiU USB Helper. Other than this it has been spectacular. Still goinh to donate even if I cant get this sorted.

EDIT: I am curious why it will import 3DS updates but not game content?

After moving everything to the ESHOP folder they are showing up as downloaded and I am able to pack them as CIA.

Ah I see. Thing is all 3ds games are fake signed by the app and the "eshop" folder happens to be the one which contains those. I just kept the same naming convention as the wiiu part so I reckon it might be confusing.

Look at the structure of a tmd It's not a list of files, it's blocks of data that tell you the content ID, type, size and hash. You have to already know what to do with that information. If you want to know how to handle a tmd file, take a look at the source for one of the open source downloaders, or ask Hikario06 for the old version's source.

Yes I saw some of source code most of them are written in c sharp not really conversant with it much if someone can tell how exactly to translate I can code for myself

Since this is something you want to do outside of WiiU USB Helper, you should start your own thread in the Homebrew area. The developers of the downloaders might be able to help you out there if you have specific questions.

Yes, you can install the VC titles, but you will need CFW (signature patching) active in order to install or run them because the tickets that this program generates for VC titles are fake. That is why those titles are marked as CFW Only.

Ok, I'm getting things falsely verifying as corrupted again. I've only ever seen it while I'm downloading using the app at the same time, so I'm pretty sure it's a bug.

If you mean that you are getting corruption warningd while copying and downloading at the same time than yes, sorry, this is a known bug. Due to the amount of cpu and ram it needs, the process shares global caches which may interfere if used at the same time. That said, the file verification before copying to sd is optional since it's now done while being downloaded. The only way a download could get corrupted would be a hardware fault which is very rare.

thanks. problem i have now lol is the app does not see that ive downloaded any 3ds games which i have, even after setting the folder. so right clicking then selecting the last option does nothing.

Check that you didn't hide 3ds titles form the "filters" menu.

What does it do ?

This program is intended to help you download games from NUS and install them on your Wii U. It's a bit like NUS Grabber except that it does not rely on any external tool, almost everything has been reprogrammed from scratch with ease of use in mind.

It comes with full DLC, VC (those require signature patching) and Updates support, and file hashing to ensure your downloads are always perfect

The application is also compatible with Cemu, and will allow to play WiiU games directly on your computer!

You can easily manage your library of games, and copy them to your SD in one click !

Does it run on Linux/OSX ?

Although not officially supported, user @opendata has been able to execute the app successfuly on linux :

• Set Wine version to Windows XP
• Install dotnet4.5
• Set Wine version to Windows 10
• Download the .application (right click and save)
• Double click it

Mac OSX users are welcome to try it too

What will I need to use it ?

• That title key site is the best option

Some games, like CoD are not available on NUS, and won't show up in the app, it's perfectly normal.
To install eShop-only games and DLC, you will have to input the address to that site.
The archive is mainly intended for legit titles.

DO NOT ASK FOR THE ADDRESS TO THAT SITE, IT IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE APP.

Why are some games available on that site but not on the app?

If the titles you are referring to are available on the eShop, then please allow some time for them to show up in the app. In fact, the application needs to cache a lot of data to provide you with banners,covers, descriptions... If one game has not been analysed by the app before being added to the site, it will not show up until its data has been collected, which can take up to 24 hours.

Why are the sizes displayed in the app bigger than the ones reported by Windows?

Without getting into too much details there are two ways display sizes.
Either you decide to group bytes (the smallest group) by packets of 1024 bytes, 2^10 (1 KiB), or 1000 bytes, 10^2(1 KB).
Windows actually uses packets of 1024 bytes but mistakenly uses the KB unit, instead of the KiB unit.
My app reports sizes as true kilo bytes.
Why is that ? That's because it's the unit storage manufacturers use too (because it allows them to print bigger numbers) so it makes calculations easier. One big advantage is that if your SD card has a size of 8GB and the app displays a game at 7.8GB then you know it will fit just fine without having to check to size reported by Windows (provided there is enough space left of course). If you were using KiB (like Windows) then your SD card would only appear to have 7.45 GiB (reported as GB by Windows) of storage available. Of course that's doesn't change the amount of space available, just your perception of it.

How do I install downloaded games ?

I recommend that you use this tool. Just use the app to copy the games to you SD card and then launch the tool to install
Always prefer using the app's feature to copy games rather than copying them manually because it will check the integrity of the files before copying them to the SD.

Can I import games downloaded from another tool ?

Yes. To do so, please go to the "Batch Commands" tab at the bottom of the main window and select "Import Games". You will be asked to select the root folder containing the games you wish to import. Please note the application will only check the first sub-folders of this path.
Example:
->GAMES/(The folder you specify in the app)
---->Game1/
---->Game2/

If (Game1) and (Game2) contain at least 'title.tmd' then they will show up in the list.
It is possible that they won't show up if you already have downloaded the games, even partially, with the app. Finally, the games must be of the same region as the app.
Please also note that importing a game will MOVE the folder.

I have a problem.When i download the game it runs just fine , but when i want to unpack the game it says that MSVCR120.dll is missing and reinstalling the program might fix it.Tried to reinstall and still the same problem.Is there any solution? thanks.....

thanks man appreciate the time you're taking to help me. no i have not hidden anything in filters. cant work it out really annoying i just want to put the games on micro sd now that i have them but i;m stuck with these encrypted games. is there no "pack to cia" application? ive tried everything but it still says "downloaded(0)"
edit:i think i may have found the issue; hikari06 may have changed the folder structure with an update as the games i downloaded originally were placed at E:\ESHOP but the new one i just grabbed is at E:\DATA_3DS\USA\ESHOP

edit2; @Hikari06 would it be possible for user defined folders as i downloaded 3ds games (that i own of course) before you changed the folder structure, meaning my games are region mixed and the titles don't reveal the region so now i'm stuck with all my games in "ESHOP" folder and not seen by your application which now looks for "USA" or "EUR" i would assume.
Mods; theres a bug which caused this double post. i did not double post.

I have an issue. USB Helper isn't decrypting 零 ～濡鴉ノ巫女～ [AL5J] (Fatal Frame V) at all, probably an issue with japanese characters and Cdecrypt.
