Can someone help me please because none of these seem to work on soundhax no matter where I dump them in the SD card on my 3ds xl . So tired of this happening.

Not on that guys page, not on the larger page of downloads, programs or games.

You need to either put the .3dsx files in your 3ds folder, or put the folder that contains a .3dsx and a .smdh in your 3ds folder.

While Im grateful to you for the assistance and im going to try again, I sure wish people would just lay it out like you did, or not exclude necessary files from their rom dumps..

First of all, (almost) every release in gbatemp work, because devs test them before the release, so I'm sure you are doing something wrong. Second, homebrews are not ROM dumps; third, What are your firmware? Fourth, be sure you have the latest starter kit, the otherapp.bin and soundhax files correctly placed in your SD Card.

Stop assuming the developers are wrong when you can't do something.

Unlike quantumcats helpful advice, couldn't care less what you two are unable to help with.

So were you referring to files in the hexen download folders? Because I don't see them in there. This is the first time ive ever tried to do this with hexen and the 3ds, that's why im asking.

Yeah I looked and I cant find any file within the hexen folders, hexenmaster or hexen 2 that ends with .3dsx or .smdh or I would do what you said to. Lots of other things ive inserted into that 3ds folder have worked, but not this hexen one. I tried placing it in various areas outside of it too while keeping the main files in the 3ds folder, theres a god awful ton of them, in the 3ds folder, nothing?..

You have to get them from the release page...You downloaded the source code. Also, all 3dsx homebrew HAS to go in the 3ds folder. It doesn't work anywhere else.

Could you be mistakenly downloading source code rather than the release files?

Source code has files ending in the letters c and h, and often times comes with an SLN file (Visual Studio solution file). Compiled homebrew comes as a single 3dsx or CIA (installable file for custom firmware users). Also, I believe Hexen requires you to have the PC version of the game installed in order to copy necessary files from. Someone can correct me on this if they want.

I really hope not, but anyway.. so the icon is now there to click on, thanks to yours and a few others help, but when I click it, it tells me w_initmultiplefiles: no files found

<o Oh lordy, All I want to do Is play hexen, pc-free on this ds. I don't mind if its in its alpha stages.

Then yeah, you do need the PC version installed on your computer. You have to put the data1 folder from it on the root of your SD (I think). Someone else can correct me on this if they want.

I'd assume so. I've not ever installed it so I don't know much more than what I found on Google.
ahk, guess I will just have to buy it for that last part. thank you kindly. erm does the pc disk version have the data1 folder like the steam version does?

If you're resourceful then you shouldn't have to buy it, but yes, the Steam version should be the same as the physical version.
