Gotta love backdoor bragging shitposts

I'm sorry you live all by yourself in a cave but this is not bragging. I am seriously pissed off. You can't even BACK UP your saves on a single device, not cool. And not being able to transfer saves from your kids or wife's or friend's switch like with my 3DS just sucks.

You seem to have a lot of hate, anger and envy in your life, you might want to see or at least talk to someone about that.

I honestly don't care. With the exception of my NGC, I never had the scenario to transfer saves since the N64.

Do cartridges not have save data on them?

Nope, data is saved to the system flash.

You've obviously never had a device stolen, broken beyond repair, lost or have the flash chip fail. Lucky you.

Shit happens. It's obviously not your fault if your shit gets stolen but breaking it is your own fault.
And about the flash chip, wut?

what's your point?
He's basically making fun of you for complaining about so much about something so small.
You should've got it the second you saw that post. Wew.

The only reason I could think that this might possibly be an issue for me would be if Nintendo later on releases an upgrade Switch and I'm enticed enough to make the upgrade (hopefully at such a point, if it happens, perhaps a cloud based solution would be available). But otherwise I don't really see why I would care, I've never had to transfer my Wii U saves to another Wii U. In fact the only time I ever have transferred saves from one system to another is if I'm making an upgrade and the new system is backwards compatible (playing my Wii games on the Wii U, my Gamecube games on the Wii, my Game Boy games on the Game Boy Advance, Playstation games on the Playstation 2, etc. etc.). So if an upgrade system or the Switch's successor comes out and is backwards compatible, would be the only reason that I'd care about if I can transfer my Switch saves or not.

I guess thats my long way of saying, no, i'm not pissed off about this at all, perhaps in the future it might be a concern (Again though I see no reason that a cloud based solution or something similar couldn't be implemented at a later time anyway), but I can't see myself caring about this for a long time.

of course they are not gonna let you transfer saves. that's to prevent saves from being used for exploits and cheating. They should do a custom format on the SD card. They are using a freebsd kernel so they can make use of freebsd's Private Encrypted File System (PEFS) id would be like the wii U usb drives.

That prevents save tampering with out hacking the console first that is. And saves stored on the sd card can be backed up my making a 1:1 image of the sd card. You could do that with the wii u usb drives. just copy your saves over and image the drive. That was the only way till the wii u got hacked. the draw back is it only works for the switch it came from. but at-least it prevents data loss due to corruption

I can't really see the reason to want to transfer saves, the switch is a portable hybrid. I can understand backing up, but not moving from switch to switch.
