Hardware Charging the Switch & Dock with my Smartphone charger?

I have a USB-C charger that came with my smartphone. These are its specs:

Input: 100-240V ~ 50/60Hz, 0.5A
Output: 5V==2A

For comparison, these are the specs of the Switch's charger:

Input: 100-240V ~ 50/60Hz, 1A
Output: 5V==1.5A / 15V==2.6A

Is it safe to charge the Switch and the Dock using my smartphone charger?

It's certainly safe to try, since the voltage is not higher and the maximum current for the 5V line is; but it may or may not require the 15V too

It's safe, but the Switch battery will still slowly drain while connected to that charger and in use, so I wouldn't recommend it for your dock.

I've seen that USB-C 5v3A chargers can keep it running while in handheld mode, but basically doesn't charge the battery in use.
5v2A will just make the battery drain a bit slower, because it can't keep up whatsoever.

Docked, unless you're just using it as a fancy charging station, please don't try it (not that it's harmful, just will disappoint).
Pretty sure that's where it uses the 15v output on the AC adapter.

the maximum that could happen is your phone charger overheating trying to keep it up, but with all the electronic and controllers fancy stuff theese devices have nowadays, i don't think that happens anymore..
however keep in mind it will really charge slow, and if you use the console, it will very likely discharge the battery

It should charge the Switch fine in docked sleep mode, but battery level may decrease during gameplay even if it's plugged in.

The switch comes with an charger that you can use in the dock or the console itself.
You only really need to have a 2nd charger if you use way too much portable mode and don't want to remove/re-insert the charger into the dock every time you're playing it docked.

EDIT: Actually this is the main reason why I've bought a spare original Switch adaptor, since I have a mess of wires behind my TV set I don't want to worry about switching the ac adaptor.

Well being honest, the battery will always die anyway, that why battery replace services exist, how people keep making so many devices and not perfected rechargable batteries yet is beyond me but that how it is. I think it keeps them in business and it sucks for all consumers.

My issue is not portable mode. I have two TVs, one downstairs and one upstairs. I want to be able to move the Dock to them without having to remove the charger behind all my other systems behind the TVs. First world problems I guess

Samsung and MIT completed their "perfected" battery nearly a year ago. It can be charged many times over the course of 2k years without worrying about degrading. They are also thinner and lighter weight for the max amount of charge they can hold. The problem is their release got delayed due to the s7 note battery disaster. They didn't even summit the new battery for approval yet to the FCC. So the odds of seeing it any time soon are way off. Like 1.5-3 years sadly.

A second dock is purchasable from NoA's official online store for 59.95. Sadly it doesn't include the power supply. If you want on of those too, that's another 39.95

This is not the wireless charging technology of your phone. This is full on resonating power transfer. It will straight power devices without batteries. In fact i read recently one company has developed a system to power an entire household wirelessly without batteries but they had trouble going through walls so far.
