Hacking How to remove/uninstall Gateway 3DS from my 3DS ?

I have a 3DS XL i found in my cupboard that hasn't been used for a long time it's got Gateway 3DS installed along with the Red Card and Blue Card

So looked up on the internet latest hack news for 3DS and i see Custom Firmware now available? So i don't need Gateway no more?


How do i go about this?

And don't use gateway it'll give you bricks. After completing the guide, sell your gateway on eBay and make some money. You won't need it anymore.

It's always decent if you want to decrypt some saves though

• How can i now play my multiple backed up games on a single cart now? I used to use my Gateway Red card which included a MicroSD card which holds the games so i can't use this no more right? What's the alternative?

• Also... in the guide this part

Don't understand do they mean delete all the folders and files listed above ^ like 3ds, files9 etc? None of these are no longer necessary? Cheers

Forget about them, you can't run .3ds games on cfw so you'll have to reinstall everything. Or use gateway again

Use freeShop to download & install games to your home menu.

Gateway was available mildly early, i remember having my 3ds from the first christmas it was on and a couple months after i was checking gateway on the net xd

And you're completely incorrect as I've used gateway, sky3ds and most CFWs for a long time so I know what I'm talking about. The only bricks with gateway were in launcher v2.0b2 if you attempted to use diagnostics mode, all other bricks were due to use of clones of simply user errors like not having an emunand with a9l.

Well, anyway, my point is - if you've actually used gateway and not just jumped on "a9l+luma masterrace!" train then you know that bricks occurred only with v2.0b2 and only in diagnostic mode with a pretty low chance of activation.

DO NOT delete these folders, you need to leave them. You can delete everything else though.

So have I - I used it from mid 2014 to mid 2016. My point is that you shouldn't call random people idiots just because you disagree with something they said. It's immature and a bad look. It's not the way to get respect. Feel free to do it now though, it won't bother me as I won't be able to see it :-p

To be fair, Gateway has a better cheat system that NTR. So it isn't entirely useless, just mostly useless XD

P.S. I'm not a GateWait/Brickway fan..... They're great devices, just the company has shitty business practices.....

I done the Gateway hack myself on the 3DS since the early days of Gateway just one and done then haven't used the device all the way until now and this is a forum where you can ask questions for help, how retarded can you be? Smh

@nccom is actually correct, you would have to reinstall everything. However, it is totally worth it because you could have all your 3DS games on your SD, and you then have your Slot 1 open for a DS flashcard. Then you could use Emulators for other consoles, turning your 3DS into the ultimate handheld...

P.S. The 3DS is also the best Legend Of Zelda system, with all these methods you can play around 80% of Zelda games on the 3DS alone...

You can decrypt the saves on 3ds too I think.

u can't without the gateway card.

@op , decrypt ur saves with jksm. basically, u have to mount the game with gateway then extract since they're decrypted for use with the game.
