using soundhax for userland? as in running homebrew? or you are using a CFW? either way its fine o-oU
I am running homebrew. I havent installed any CFW. I pressed yes, but now it's saying that I need to update the system firmware...
What firmware are you in? before doing anything stupid, that you might regret on soon, what firmware are you in?
go through 3ds.guide first!! If you update without doing that you will be locked out of having any CFW (well they are just signature patchers and not real CFWs) until we have boot9 + you'd need a hardmod, so go and take your chance

Follow each step of the guide without screwing it, if your console its a N3DS, dont close the lid nor perform an update system on 2.1, just to be sure, and you will be fine

Keep in mind this is your only chance, as once you update theirs no going back. Also, once you install a cfw, if you really want, you can just treat it like a vanilla console. Just dont miss your chance.
run fast hax then safe hax then run luma then open a cia installer and install the latest update cia or install the update with freeshop

Instructions
- Remove your SD card from your device, leaving it on the Homebrew Launcher, then insert your SD card into your computer
- Create a folder named files9 on the root of your SD card if it does not already exist
- Copy safehax.3dsx to the /3ds/ folder on your SD card
- Copy fasthax.3dsx to the /3ds/ folder on your SD card
- Copy Decrypt9WIP.bin from the Decrypt9WIP .zip to the root of your SD card and rename Decrypt9WIP.bin to safehaxpayload.bin
- Reinsert your SD card into your 3DS
- Launch fasthax from the list of homebrew
- You may have to scroll down to see this option
- Once it has completed, press (Start) to exit back to the Homebrew Launcher
- This may take several tries
- If it freezes, just force the console to power off by holding the power button, then try again
- Launch safehax from the list of homebrew
- You may have to scroll down to see this option

- If the exploit was successful, you will have booted into Decrypt9

This is an easy one, you got your payload named "safehaxpayload.bin" but the extension also includes the .bin.
So just remove the .bin of the name and voila!
