Hardware Anyway to disable sound on O3DS

My 3ds sound slider is broken, and the volume is constantly at max. I'm too lazy and too cheap to have it repaired, so I'm wondering if theres something i can do that will disable sound all together.

Like i said the slider is broken. No matter what position its in the volume stays maxed.

There's an outside slider and a inside one. Sliding the inside one will change it.

Cover the speakers with something? That way, the sound should be muffled... I think.

You could get a pair of broken headphones and leave the jack inside.

A Philips #00 screwdriver should work.

You could get a pair of broken headphones and leave the jack inside.

This is a much better solution, so when you want to play with sound take the broken headphones off...

To anyone who's wondering, I have everything fixed now. The sound slider works perfectly. When i opened it up the outside slider moved the inside slider just fine, and when I turned on the the 3ds(the the back open, and the guts still showing) everything worked fine. When i put everything back together though it stopped working again. I opened it multiple times and it kept doing the same thing. Eventually i went to open up the back again but kept the 3ds on the whole time as a test. When unscrewing the screw closest to the sound slider it just worked. For whatever reason, having that one screw to tight broke the sound slider, not sure why, but i just left that a little more lose and everything is fixed.
