First we had Kirby's Epic Yarn on the Wii, then we had Yoshi's Woolly World on the Wii U as well as Poochy & Yoshi's Woolly World on the 3DS, now how about a yarn styled Donkey Kong game on the Switch? I think it would work pretty well. KEY was a standalone game that had "some" Kirby elements, YWW felt like the real "Yoshi's Island 2" while borrowing elements from the YI trilogy. For Donkey Kong, they could make the game like the DKC trilogy, DKCR, and DKC:TF. Plus, like KEY and YWW, you can transform into animal buddies, as seen in the DKC trilogy, DK64, DKCR, and DKC:TF. You could find knitted DK coins, knitted banana coins, and the beads replace the bananas, themselves. Also, don't forget the bonus rooms.

I agree.
Personally, I didn't like Kirby's Epic Yarn much. It was too casual and too detached from the gameplay that made the Kirby series good.
However, I loved the hell out of Yoshi's Woolly World, it's one of the best Yoshi themed games in ages. Excellent music, an excellent soundtrack, and with some very well designed levels.
I also loved the hell out of DKC:TF though. I would love more of those kind of games.
But the main point is, it doesn't have to be yarn themed to be good. DKC:TF satisfied my need for a Donkey Kong game, if they want to make another that's great, but I don't really see a need for a yarn theme there because it was so good as is.

We'll I was thinking if Retro Studios makes DKCR3, then a few years later, we get a yarn themed DK game. Like DKCR3 comes out in 2018 and a yarn themed DK game comes out in 2020. Exactly 5 years after YWW and 10 years after KEY.

I could see these being the next DK games:

DKC:TF (Switch port) - Fall 2017/Winter 2018
DKCR3 - Fall 2018
DKKJ - Summer/Fall 2020

DKKJ stands for "Donkey Kong's Knitty Jungle".

Sure, it would be nice, but it wouldn't be much different from what exists already.
There isn't really much of a need for it.
They already perfected the DKC games. The only improvement I could see Good-Feel Co. having on the series is with an even better soundtrack.

Yeah, but it would complete the "Nintendo Yarn" trilogy. I still want an HD remaster of the DKC trilogy, done in the style of the upcoming Crash Bandicoot: N. Sane Trilogy.

I could see why Yoshi needed the "Good Feel" treatment, he had 2 mediocre sequels on the DS and 3DS, and three forgettable spinoffs on the N64, GBA, and DS.

I would love a HD remaster of the DKC trilogy. They're among my favorite games of all time. Especially DKC2.
Nintendo does technically own the copyright of those games even though they were made by Rare, so hopefully we'll see a remake of those games some day.

Maybe Retro Studios will develop the HD remaster. I mean the Crash Bandicoot HD trilogy remaster is being done by the same company that gave us the GBA Crash Bandicoot games.

That sounds kinda like the Irate Gamer's shitty review. But at least you're being more honest than him.

I haven't watched it. I don't really like Irate Gamer.
It's not like i hated Kirby's Epic Yarn or anything. It just wasn't as good as the main series Kirby games. And even those are pretty low on my list. I've never been a huge fan of Kirby games but I did play through the Wii one (Kirby's Adventure) and had fun with it.
