I tried looking at google, the place i found was sm4shmods.com But i would like a place i don't need to register and create account to access downloads for them. That is what i mean by "Unprotected" (Not being restricted to anything, open and free to use with no requirement.)

I have not tried any mods yet and wish to do so. I don't want any presentational mods. (Textures, music colors, backgrounds, videos, title screen.) I want Game play mods. (Altered moves sets, and character statictics, new stages, items, characters.) I want to try some mods, so if anyone can help me, i would appreciate it.

What i have
  • Super smash bros wii u game disc
  • Nintendo wii u 5.5.1
  • Haxchi.
  • Mocha
I want a simple way to do this.

Oh, sorry for not clarifying. Modpacks are ready to be used so you can play right away. What I meant is that most modpacks also have an option to download them unpacked to be used with sm4shexplorer so you can add individual skins/maps/etc. To add more mods, you need to have your dump and the unpacked files.
Is okay, i just wanted to try some. I dunno if or how it works.

If anyone knows, do the same mods on wii u work for 3ds or are they all different?
WiiU mods and 3ds mods are different AFAIK.

No, Wii U and 3DS mods are completely different things

and setting up mods for smash is super easy. Here is a guide (I made) http://gamebanana.com/tuts/12021
Okay, thanks for the info, so using the sdcafiine homebrew is how I load mods from sd card. Make sense. Just like brawl mods do. :)

So if i understand correctly, packed mods only worked with the files it contains, and unpacked mods won't work with other mods unless you use the smash explorer program to make it work?

In other words i need to manually allow them to work with other mods if i want to use them together with a bunch of different mods. Sounds like unpacked mods needs to be signed to work with other Already packed mods.

Let me put it like this, Sm4sh can only read a packed modpack. You use sm4sh explorer to add mods to an unpacked modpack. Sm4sh explorer then packs the unpacked modpack to be able to be read by Sm4sh. Packed modpacks are pre-made so you can't add other mods to them.

I know, you said that the first time.

The problem is the files that smash explorer needs is like total 6GB and it will take long to transfer over FTP :(

Oh, when you said 'signed' in what you were asking, it confused me. The unpacked modpack doesn't get signed, it just gets packed. So yeah, that's how it works.
Signed usually means a process required to make something work with another thing. As you stated, packed mods only work with the mods applied at the time they were paked, while unpack can be applied to any of your current mods, but must be applied yourself using the explorer program.

Anyway, basically you mean that if i find a mod pack i can only use one, there is no way to combine mod packs together unless they were unpacked and i use the explorer progam to pack them myself to work.
