I have about 2 months ago installed haxchi with Permanent Homebrew Channel * and i want to install mochaCFW + rednand.

Do i need to uninstall haxchi or can i install mochaCFW + rednand without problems?
If I need to uninstall haxchi can someone tell how to do that?
If i don't need to uninstall which tutorial can i better use:
- 1e
- 2e

and from which step need i to start?

* Installed with this guide

WiiU: 5.5.1E

Can you explain what you mean about sysnand that can do a lot more dan rednand.
One you can play wii VC games without having to double install it. On rednand you need to install wii VC games on sysnand and rednand so the game takes up double the amount of space on your hdd. Also if a system update comes out if you update the rednand first it bricks your sysnand so no more wiiu. If you update sysnand first then rednand will no longer work. Also rednand takes up 32 gb of your sd card. Rednand is easy to brick it takes way longer to load ect

Are you talking about sysnand cfw? I thought rednand was safer to use with updates.

Yes I am talking about sysnand cfw the problem with the Wiu is that when it updates part of the update goes on the nand chip/sd card using rednand the other part of the update goes on another chip. Rednand only emulates the nand chip so if you update the rednand the other chip updates but the sysnand chip stays on the lower firmware. So when you start up the wiiu the nand chip firmware is lower than the firmware on the other chip and the wiiu fails to load as it is bricked due to the missmatched firmware. The same happens in reverse if you update the sysnand then the rednand is on a lower firmware so when you try to load it the rednand and the other chip have different firmware so this time the rednand is bricked. That is how smea bricked his wiiu by trying to update rednand.

He is right: you should use SysCFW, not RedNand.
If you set up a DNS to block updates, it is better: simplicity, easy way to install DS games (:D).....

The only thing with SysCFW is to NOT install sysconfigtool.

So i only need cfwbooter to boot to sysnand cfw.
Then is safe to update?

Can i boot sysnand cfw automatic?

You can install CBHC to automatically boot sysCFW.
This tutorial is excelent: i've used it to install CBHC.

http://gbatemp.net/threads/how-to-setup-custom-firmware-w-sigpatches.446818/

Watch out: follow correctly the tuto and after that, don't forget to set up a DNS to block future updates :)

PS: At the end, you should install Wup Installer GX2 in channel format to simply install games.

Thank you.

Do i start from these steps? (because i have installed haxchi already (cfwbooter))

This'll require haxchi being already installed, follow the guide before this if you don't have that already.

As with everything, this has a brick risk, gbatemp is not responsible if you brick while performing this.

  • Download the latest CBHC release from here and place the wiiu and cbhc folders on the root of your SD card.
  • Load up the homebrew launcher on your sysNAND and run CBHC, Hit A, then A and then A again.
  • Coldboothax should be installed and you should be rebooted into sysNAND.
  • Reboot your Wii U, you should load into the CBHC menu, scroll down to the autoboot section and hit "A" there until it switches to Mocha CFW if using redNAND, and System Menu if using sysNAND CFW.
  • Scroll up to Boot Mocha CFW for redNAND or Boot System Menu for sysNAND CFW and then hit "A".
  • You'll be in either sysNAND CFW if you set that up, or redNAND CFW if you set that up.
  • Whenever you boot you'll automatically load redNAND CFW or sysNAND CFW, depending on which you setup.

or do i need these steps first?

The Holy Guide :
  • Download this and copy the wiiu folder onto the root of your sd card.
  • Boot up your Wii U insert your sd and load up loadiine.ovh, then load up the homebrew launcher from there.
  • Choose the app store and find Mocha, install that.
  • Load up Mocha and don't enable redNAND and then turn on skip this menu, press A. You'll be in sigpatched sysNAND once you've done that.
  • Load up the homebrew launcher from loadiine.ovh again and run Mocha once again, if everything went well you'll boot into sigpatched sysNAND.
  • Whenever you want to boot sigpatched sysNAND you'll have to follow the step above this one whenever you want to load sigpatched sysNAND(unless you setup haxchi, which is covered later in the guide).

There has been a version of sysconfigtool for sysnand for a few months now

Is this true when rednand + seeprom + otp redirectiopn is in place ?

after installing rednand (haxchi + mochacfw) i have some questions marks poping up in sysnand.

Upon some comments / posts it seems like unlinking (formatting) sysnand may help.

If i format sysnand will i be able to redownload my ds vc title that i bought earlier ?
Regarding the usb disk , will i have a popup at each reboot when starting sysnand asking me to format it ? (it seems like i ll have to reformat it in rednand upon reading)
