Now we have sigpatch, iosuhax, rednand, and even coldboot but there is so few homebrew applications being installed right on the home menu!

Why not "porting" the Wii U USB Helper to the Wii U to download the game files right on SD to be installed by the WUPInstaller without removing SD from PC or even letting it download and install the games by itself?

I think for the most dev's it's "just not worth it"* + the download speed on the wiiU (at least for homebrew reaally sucks) + would be a "piracy only tool" (which I personally have no intestest in).

*Downloading something on your computer + copying it to you sd card is for 95% of the people still way faster than the 10mbit/s download limit.

And the 3ds games are 25 times smaller
Shhhh he's a pirate, he doesn't care how slow it is if it means getting free gaems 10 times more easy than it already is.

And yeah after Nintendo just started to go after the 3ds Freeshop i'm pretty sure doing one for the Wii U would be a great idea *Sarcasm*

FreeShop lost only their GitHub, the app is absolutely functional and need only the cia installed.

who knows maybe @TheCruel might fancy giving ninty the double "FreeShop, nintendo F*!k U" edition ;)

but yeah i think all the building blocks are there, but tbh the 3ds building blocks where there for ages before someone decided to just go for it.....i guess the wiiu scene is much smaller and there isnt as much demand as in the 3ds scene for idiot proof piracy solutions

plus.....well there isnt any wiiu games anyway :creep:

I'm sure someone will do it eventually.

People here say it's not worth it or possible, but it's not true. I remember back in the day reading the exactly same comments regarding an USB loader for the Wii... and look at us now.

My computer runs at like around 300kb per second. 10mbits per second would be sweet. Also you could say the same thing about the Homebrew Shop. But games are bigger and it would be faster to download directly to USB or Wii U instead of waiting for downloading, moving, copying, installing, updating when it can be installing.

They only got freeShop because of the 3DS boot logo. But the WiiU doesn't have that.

For some people, like me, there's no easy way to get the .app files onto the Wii U. I don't have an SD Card reader, I usually end up using my phone, over a USB 2.0 connection to copy the stuff. Bulk downloading is also REALLY fucking slow when you are using a PC, going to a bunch of sites, and getting .app files from the download is already kinda difficult, but lets say there were like, 10 games you wanted, that means, 10 downloads, 10 copies, 10 installs, where as on the 3DS right now, maybe soon to be the Wii U, you hover over each game, press a button, and wait. Also, don't pull the whole, "Shhh he's a pirate, he doesn't care..." because that's just a ignorant statement. If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything, seriously.

If there's a will there's a way ..All it takes is one determined hacker to make a FreeshopU upload it,
(maybe as a hidden identity) then watch it take off once it's on the web it can never die ..
The Freeshop on 3DS still works just gotta know that certain site that also has a WiiU equivalent..
So if a WiiU App was made All we need is that WiiU equivalent site, and wala done ..
Nintendo can yank all they want long as it's up on the web it can never die ..
Now we wait for that Determined hacker ^-^

Not a hacker, a coder, nothing about that is hacking.

I'm noob but i think a good idea for a developer is to begin with the code of the homebrew app store and redirect to a site of wiiu games instead of wiiubru website and redirect the download to the correct folder in the sd card.

Eh, I'd just base it off of the FreeShop GitHub to be honest. Either that or find more catalog things. The Homebrew App Store wasn't made to display hundreds of things, tho I haven't looked, I'm just guessing here. You'd need a UI that can do searching, sorting, bulk downloads (Ex: queuing things up a bunch). All in all, it'll be a lot of work. However I don't think anyone is really up to it.
