Yes I realize that's not your usual GBAtemp topic, but screw it. I'm a bit of a bitch when it comes to food poisoning, so I figured better save than sorry. Well I bought carrots today from the supermarket and they look and smell fine to me when they are not peeled. I peeled one and there are small black dots over it. That's the first time I have seen those black dots on a carrot. I tried to google it but I found discussion about black spots on the surface of carrots, not INSIDE carrots.

Any idea what those dots are?

Well, I don't know if you can save it by eating it, it's much a philosophy question. "Could I save this veggie by eating it". "Is it in pain". "Does it think, live, think, learn?"

Ok to answer question, yes it most likely is safe.

Granted I always bought bio carrots, aka carrots that weren't covered with chemicals and stuff, but this time I bought the cheaper non-bio ones and they have these black dots. The bio carrots don't.

Probably some kind of parasite (for the plant). You must not worry about it. Don't worry, a physicial here, ask what you want,

You mean organic, I guess.

Will this be remembered as fondly as the Milk thread? Is there a carrot doctor in the house?!

It looks fine to me. I mean, the worst case scenario is only that you die, so it can't be that dangerous.

It's probably some imperfection in the vegetable and unless there were bugs in it, that carrot should be okay.

Probably. They are called bio carrots around here, though.

Plot Twist: It's a dick pic disguised as a harmless carrot pic
Damnit, didn't expect to get exposed that fast.

If there's anything amiss with my food I won't eat it especially considering taht black on carrots indicates it may already be or may be close to rotting. I don't need to order the best ingredients around town but I want to feel secure about what I'm eating from cheap$ 1 trash food to something fancy. That said that carrot doesn't look bad. Try cutting into it and picking the dots out to check what they are.
