How to make your 3DS last over 80 hours in standby

Simply turn off your WiFi and start Ocarina of Time. Ocarina of Time 3D is an extended memory game. This means in standby with the wifi off home menu will not be running. Don't open the home menu then close the console, close the console on the games pause or save screen. Leaving the home menu open will cause it to run in standby mode which will prevent this trick from working. Currently my console has been in standby mode for four days and still has four bars. I just realized this may only work on 2DS and O3DS.

OOT 3D is not an extended memory game.
To my knowledge it is in a certain way, that's why you have to upload a patch with kit Kat or nitro in NTR mode to use input redirection on O3DS and N3DS, or capture with NTR 3.4. Trust me when I say on O3DS it is running extended

Better method: shut down the console
If you start an extended memory game to make the standby last longer, why the hell you want the console In standby?
I was just mentioning something I noticed, I turn mine off, a9lh.

I have an O3DS, I know what games are extended, I'm not arguing with you but OoT, just like every 3D Zelda game ever made, has Nintendo approved performance hacks. Test my theory on this and marvel at the inexplicable results.

It's not. Just try and open the web browser while it's suspended. You can't on extended memory games. You may have a different definition of what extended memory is.

there's no fancy extended memory stuff Nintendo could have done with OoT3D, because I'm fairly sure OoT3D was released early on in the 3DS' life, so Nintendo wouldn't know any of those little tricks to improve performance until later on in the system's life, evidence being Pokemon X/Y, where battles lagged heavily when the 3D was on, because they hadn't figured out those performance tricks yet. In fact, iirc OoT3D has some frame drops in the game as well, though they aren't very noticeable from what I can remember.

I can say OoT3D is not extended memory, as I have used Nanquitas' NTR plugin on the game many times before Mode3 was a thing
O3DSXL

EDIT; It might use more memory than other games (Keyword might?) but it's not enough to be extended.. It doesn't fully reboot on O3DS
Doubts

It would be a good idea to check your facts before posting something dumb like this. OoT3D is NOT an extended memory game (just like everyone else said...). But, hey, maybe there is another reason this works besides it being an extended memory game. Maybe OoT3D is the exact opposite, a low power game which it uses less of the system's battery life?

As well expanded memory games don't increase your battery life. Turning off your wifi does help, but really most games won't have an effect on your battery life.
Also expanded memory mode does not turn off the homemenu in the background. It does turn off features like the web browser and Miiverse.

If OoT was an extended memory game it wouldn't lag when you break a lot of pots in the guard house or when you shoot the light arrow at Ganondorf

OoT3D came out in 2011, New 3DS, which is when extended memory was added late 2014, following 8.0-8.1 FW in Japan
Also why is preserving battery so important if it's just in standby, just close the case, problem solved? My o3DS lasts ALL day generally and by the time I get home I can charge it so I'm not really following along with your train of though on this ;c

I would understand trying to increase the standby time using a "random" game in the era of MenuHax or MSET ROP loading in the cases where you're getting shitty success rates, but with A9LH or a vanilla system it makes way more sense to simply shut down the console if you aren't going to use standby mode with the game you're actually playing.
