Hi everybody!

I'm planning to setup a Rednand on my 3DS which is already softmodded with 3ds.guide and working perfectly.
FW: 11.3
Luma 6.6 stable
A9LH

But I want to have a redNAND (or EmuNAND) too.
I'm aware, that it is not really necessary, but since I'm experimenting alot with Nintendo Zones, Beacons and Homebrew, I want a clean Nand without installed CIAs, without Tickets or Titles.

I just want some confimation on the process:

- Backup SysNAND (Hourglass)
- Backup SD to PC
- Use Emunand9 to setup redNAND
- restore Backup to SD-Card
- Boot into Emunand (holding L while booting)
- Format EmuNAND
- Backup EmuNAND to SD (for a future restore)

This should give me:
Normal boot -> Sysnand with all my games, titles ect.
Boot While holding L -> a clean 3DS with nothing installed
Changes on the Emunand should not be reflected on the Sysnand
So, for "normal" fun and games: just boot
For experimenting: Boot while holding L

Is this how I should be done??????????

What's the point when 3ds.guide steps makes you boot into a cfw at boot?

@OfficialBrony: The CFW is not the point, I got that anyway (3DS's got Luma & A9LH already).
Best Explanation would be that I need a different Desktop. Something like a second User.
Like when you make a second User in Windows. One user for games, another user for Work.
I don't want to mix the settings and programs I use for gaming with those I use for experimenting.

for example: The RedNAND should login a different WLAN than the Sysnand, because the Sysnand uses my "normal" AP for Internet Connection, the RedNAND should use a different AP with a custom DNS Server which redirects certain calls to Nintendo

I see. So your 3ds is being shared to another user and you want a different "login" for the other user, correct?

@OfficialBrony: Yep, that's it :-) I use both of these "useraccounts" for myself, just for different reasons (playing games on one side and experimenting with the 3ds on the other)

@BL4Z3D247: It's a new 3DS, I don't want to unscrew the cover everytime.

@HyperT: Thanks!!!!

I found this

https://github.com/Plailect/Guide_RedNAND/wiki/Part-3-(RedNAND)

Give it a read before starting anything.
If this doesn't answer your questions, I will search even further.

Worked like a charm :-)

Now I have a multiuser 3DS and don not have to change the network config twice a day-

I just needed the guide as a general outline to understand the process a bit better, because I couldn't find a Guide for setting up EmuNAND with A9LH already running.
And a bit of confirmation from you guys, that I was on the right track.

Thanks for all the Help guys!!!!!

Kirky

That guide doesn't apply 1:1 to your situation as you have a9lh - what you have posted yourself in #1 is fine. Load emunand9 via luma payloads
The OP got what they needed, and the OP did tell me the link I sent him is what he is looking for.

I wasn't dissing your post - it was more in relation to the usual advice with plialects guide; i.e. follow every step word for word.

In this case you adjust to using a9lh payloads [of emunand9] and don't use menuhax
