Sounds a little too good to be true? I know but this is a legit retailer and since you can pay via Paypal, there's nothing to worry about.

The UK retailer GameSeek has stated on their website that they'll be soon putting up pre-orders again and this time, it's for the Neon Edition (the coloured Joy-Cons) for £198.50. GS has confirmed that those who pre-ordered the Grey Edition will be dispatched before release!

£198.50 exchanges to EUR 233 / USD 247.

Not surprising that some retailers are willing to let them go at ~$250 already, although this is region-specific. Says the charger is a UK model and they won't ship to anywhere outside of UK.

I think the only catch is that unlike Amazon where you pre-order and you get the money taken out when it's dispatched, Gameseek requires you to pay upfront. I wonder if Nintendo will just keep creating the "shortage" illusion for as long as possible like they did for the NES Mini.

Even if I could buy from the UK I personally wouldnt want my console to be from outside my own region, even with region free considered.

There's a high chance the firmware will be identical across regions, so even if you buy a console from another region it will be indistinguishable from one from your own region.
After all it doesn't make sense for them to maintain multiple firmware variants when the games and eShop are both region free.

Well, they do ship internationally. They even ship to China.

Sorry but we are currently unable to offer any delivery services to your location.
You may try a different address if you wish to proceed with this order

This is pretty cool, considering Walmart already marked down the price to about $280 USD. I think that was it, I'm not too sure any more. I do remember though, that I was really salty remembering I got my preorder at gamestop and couldn't price match with Walmart.

They brought their price back up to $299 since. Pretty much nobody got it at the lower price unless they were able to price match, Wal-Mart was sold out when they lowered it.

Do we know if the eShop will be region free too? I'm positive there will still be different region firmware.

Also I want to avoid minor shit like color/colour and other words I cant think of right now.

They confirmed that the eShop region is tied to your Nintendo Account's region, and that you can have multiple Nintendo Accounts on one system, so for example you can just make another account if you want to use the eShop of another region.

The only argument I have left is if consoles from EU will have lower frame rate due to the different conversion of power. I also believe it has to do with how their TV sets are displayed.

I know they did this with the Wii, not sure about Wii U.

It used to be like that because of different video standards, but with HDMI all of that was standardized across regions and while it's still possible for a console that uses HDMI to run at 50hz in one region and 60hz in another it's more likely it'll just be a setting you can change at will, as was the case with the Xbox 360. I'm not sure whether the Wii U used 50hz or 60hz or both though.

I also just realized there will also likely be a difference in power consumption with a console from another region.

So with import fees and buying a power converter I think you are coming out of this even.

That's strange. This is what they state for International Shipping:

We are pleased to be able to ship items of upto 2kg of weight to anywhere in the world. Where we can, we will also send items that weight above 2kg. Please note that if you try to buy an item from outside the UK that weighs more than 2kg, then this may will be removed from your basket at checkout. It varies from country to country however we can deliver to most European destinations parcels that weigh upto 15kg!

http://www.gameseek.co.uk/c/delivery.php

I live in Uk and this is great news
The fact that we may have to pay £60 ($80) For zelda balances things out, im still not sure whether to get this at launch but its a bit too good to be true atm
Nintendo would be pricing it well but it would be unlikely atm to be under £200

Zelda:BotW has been available for £40 with the Amazon £50 discount and GameSeek has it currently for £45.00 which is currently the lowest price around. Very has the WiiU version of Zelda:BotW for £34.99 (C&C).
