Hacking Turbographx16 games crash when i touch the gamepad touch screen

Hi the turbographx16 games installed with wupinstaller crash when i touch the gamepads touchscreen. does anybody else have this problem ?

Maybe something to do with the Arc files? With Loadiine versions they needed to be renamed to match the systems region.

My guess would be that it's missing some kind of font/gui element it's using.
But that's my guess.

For the sake of completeness, I've confirmed that I don't have the problem on my US WiiU. (not that anyone expected a problem)

Arc files located in 'content/lyt/arcs' need to be renamed to EUR to work on European consoles. i.e - USA_en.arc = EUR_en.arc etc.; after that you need to repack with nuspacker and reinstall with wupinstaller; it should work without crashing.

Done all that and it still crashes.

It seems to work fine until creating save .bin files (the game was stared for the 1st time after installation) but then it hangs. I also tested to restart it again, I have no messages about creating .bin files but it hangs with the same error.

Maybe @FIX94 knows what is going on ?

Well I managed to make bomberman '94 in a working state using a very old japanese dump (not available on wiiu usb helper) and renaming USA_en.arc to test.arc = game works, no crashes and the menu that appears touching the screen is in english; japanese game has ONLY 1 arc file called test.arc so definitively the problem are the .arc files. I am doing more tests without using the japanese rom, i will keep you informed in case of success.

DO NOT substitute .arc files with ftpiiu everywhere, they are not correctly copied (maybe caching problems ?). I substituted/renamed the .arc file using PC and repacking with nuspacker.

I also managed to make the USA version in a working state.
Decompressing and looking at the \code\main.rpx I found the program is looking for the following files inside \content\Lyt\arcs:

EUR_de.arc
EUR_en.arc
EUR_es.arc
EUR_fr.arc
EUR_it.arc
EUR_nl.arc
EUR_pt.arc
EUR_ru.arc
USA_en.arc
USA_es.arc
USA_fr.arc
USA_pt.arc

as you can see in this picture:

So I made 8 copies of USA_en.arc and renamed them into the 8 missing EUR files above; i then repacked all with NUSPacker and installed with wupinstaller: game is working and touching the screen make the emulator menu to appear.

Probably the only one file you need is one EUR_xx.arc where xx is the code for your region but I have no time to test it right now, if someone want to spend some time on that it will save lot of installing space removing the region-unuseful .arc files.

EDIT: an EUR version of R-Type is out "into the wild": you can get the original EUR files from there. Thanks to @Columbo2811 for the info!

Has anyone else noticed that some games that work in Loadiine, don't work when installed to USB? Galaga '90 works perfectly with Loadiine, but freezes when you go to load it from the homescreen. Very strange. There are other examples as well.

Galaga '90 was never released at the titlekey site so the copy you have surely has bad \code and \meta folder because it was dumped using ddd.

To make it in a working state using NUSPacker you need to create a correct cos.xml file and also add all the missing files to the \meta folder. Try to replace the bad\missing files with Bomberman '94 files, it should work.

I think I misspoke. I used my copy of R-type downloaded from the eshop and injected Galaga '90 into it. It boots fine in Loadiine, but not when packed with Nuspacker. I don't believe that it is missing any files sense the meta folder has the needed files. The Cos and app xml's are also in the code folder. I added the EUR arc files, but still just freezes on the initial launch screen with a music loop. I know that this thread is for legit games and has nothing to do with my issue, but I see that you guys know what you are doing and would appreciate any help.
