I was just promoted to update. I'm not going to till I know the CFW A Arm9loaderhaxx currently installed still works.

I really suggest not updating to the latest OFW. It doesn't introduce anything worth updating to and you can still go online with whatever CFW you are using. Trust me, you aren't missing out on much with 11.3

The update nag will be annoying when it's released. I thought online play also required latest FW? I know that an user reported here they could play Pokemon Moon online on 11.2 - for now. But what about later?

If we can avoid 11.3 and always play online without any extra gimmicks then yeah, 11.3 is pointless. It introduced what? "Stability fixes" and "user enhancements". Which translates into "Fixed exploits" and "made your life more miserable if you use Homebrew". Thanks but no thanks Nintendo.

Online play in game works for a pre-determined amount of time before the update becomes forced, then you will get the nag when connecting online in any capacity. For now, you can use the internet in games on 11.2. I'm WT in Pokemon as we speak.

Running Luma3DS with arm9loaderhax is the safest option you can have, for now. I would suggest making a backup of your sysNAND and/or emuNAND before updating.

I'm pretty sure 11.3 will be required in order to play online very soon. It doesn't take long for the Nintendo Network administrators to alter the lowest firmware requirement on their off-site hosted servers.

Should I go into Hourglass9 and backup the System NAND?

I don't know about you but I'm already getting the update nag any time I close a game, so I just updated back to 11.3, not that it's an issue I don't need hbl
