Seems the channel version doesn't load some apps for some reason (HBAS, FTPIIU, ect.) Am I just doing something wrong or do the apps need to be updated to work with HBL 2.x?

According to the first post, the issue is related to the app itself and not to the Homebrew Laucher.

Limitation

Currently only ELF files of up to 6.5 MB are supported.
rpx file support has been added on HBL v1.4, rpx files up to 68MB are supported.

Some existing homebrew are currently not working with the channel version. They are relying on the MiiMaker titleID (for example ddd or WUP Installer) and will have to be updated.
This is NOT a homebrew launcher issue, the launched homebrew needs an update!

All launched homebrew will automatically return to the launcher when exiting them.
Launching Miimaker will reload the Homebrew launcher, except with Loadiine which will reload loadiine. you need to exit loadiine (home button) to return to the homebrew launcher.

Question - can you UNINSTALL the channel somehow, once it is installed? Mine gives me an error when I try to launch and I must reboot the WiiU

AFAIK HBAS and FTPiiU should not have that issue; especially once you consider that FTPiiU was written by dimok himself, while @vgmoose tries his absolute damndest to make sure HBAS works for everyone. The only homebrew that should really rely on Mii Maker are those system utilities mentioned before - ddd, WUP Installer or anything else that fiddles with title launching.

You should be able to remove it from System Settings. (the data management section)

Are you getting error 199-9999? Are you running a CFW?
In order to run custom channels, you will need to patch out signature checks. Have you considered using Simple Signature Patcher?

I've installed HBL channel version using WUP Installer y Mod, and the icon is there, but even after using Haxchi to boot into custom fw, when i try to launch HBL from the channel icon, I get the splash screen but then just a black screen. Any ideas?

EDIT: actually, my Haxchi was set to boot sigpatcher2sysmenu/sign_patcher.elf, not a CFW. I've loaded Mocha CFW and installed HBL channel, works fine now.

What's the RPX version of HBL 2.x for?

Is the homebrew_launcher.elf file in your SD card up-to-date? Only v1.3 and up (I think) can detect and open RPX-based homebrew.

Do I need to be on a cfw to install the homebrew channel on the Wii U menu? I know to run it you need the cfw but just just installing it on wupinstaller first. I broke 2 Wii U over dumb crashes like even on the loadiine page. I crashed on loadiine page cause i had bad internet and it made things messed up breaking my Wii U. So i'm trying to avoid crashes here lol

You need to have some kind of signature patching active at the time that you install the channel and when you run it, because a homebrew app doesn't have a valid ticket.
Can I install Haxchi first then homebrew?

Bad connection made it double post

Haxchi doesn't apply its own signature patching unless you select the sysmenu option, either by pressing the button assigned to sysmenu, or setting it as default= in sd:/haxchi/config.txt then install/reinstall haxchi.

Once you've run Haxchi and the sysmenu option reloads back to the normal menu, you'll have sigpatches active and you can install HBL channel using wupinstaller.

What? I'm sorry for being a baby at this stuff, so do I install haxchi first or homebrew first?

One way to do it: Put HBL (elf version), Haxchi installer, WUPInstaller y mod (or WupInstaller GX2) and HBL channel install files on your SD card. Buy and Install a Haxchi compatible DS game to your SysNAND, use the browser exploit to run the HBL elf version, Run the Haxchi installer from there. Reboot. Run Haxchi, press B for Sysmenu, Wait for the WiiU Menu, Run Haxchi again, press nothing (HBL will load.) Run Wupinstaller from there and install HBL Channel.

There are other ways to do it, but really, none of that has to do with HBL itself, which makes it off-topic for this thread.

So I can't seem to get the channel version to install right. I have cold boot HaxChi installed and here is my process:

1. Power up console
2. Click "System Menu" (which I assume starts the CFW)
3. Load the HaxChi menu again from the home screen (not sure if I need to do this... I've also tried it booting straight into Homebrew Launcher)
4. Load WUP Installer by crediar (Mod 1.3]
5. Try to install to system memory

It throws me the error

Code:
MCP_InstallGetInfo 0xFFFBF3E2
Confirm complete WUP files are in the folder. Try power down.

I redownloaded twice and it still won't install. A game I tested work but this won't. Any ideas? Thanks!

If you're booting via CBHC then there's no need for launchin Haxchi again.
Launch loadiine.ovh and launch HBL from there, select wup installer mod y and install to NAND.
[It must be v2.1 channel, insert it in sdcard://install/Homebrew Launcher]
