I'm about to punt this thing into the ether. i copied all the web server files to a folder, then copied the new codebin files and the "551hbl.mp4" payload to the folder....i keep getting an error that says "unable to load file" on my Wii U when pointing it to my web server. no i do not have an internet connection at home, so running this from a web server is a MUST for me. i can only RARELY connect my Wii U to go online.

it's running 5.5.1. somebody please help, if i could just get a copy of the www folder i need pre-packed and upped to something like google drive, mega or mediafire, that would help tons

Quick question... do I need to use Homebrew Launcher 1.4 when doing a fresh install of the hack on a Wii U? (I see a v2.1 but if I read correctly that's only for a channl-icon install?)

I think the process is Homebrew Launcher 1.4 --> loadiine.ovh --> Haxhi --> CBHC?

I'm a bit confused..

The latest version is 1.4 .elf file right? The latest channel version is 2.1 right? What's the .rpx for?

The .rpx is the same as the one in the channel version's code folder, but you can launch it without sigpatches because it's not a channel.

The zip doesn't include a www folder, which implies that you can't go from the browser right to the rpx, so you'd probably have to go from browser to hbl 1.4 (via the rpx-compatible payload) then to hbl 2.1 rpx.

I don't get it then. If the channel is used, well, as a channel, and the elf is used for the browser, then what's the rpx for? Just a version to launch from v1.4?
I mean, if that's the case, HBL in rpx isn't really useful. It's other programs that are in rpx format that are useful (since that can be launched from HBL)

Is this correct or am I missing something here?

Off-topic: Do you use discord? Need some help with the legit dlc thing we talked about yesterday, and I'm a bit lost with ftpiiu_everywhere. If not, I'll just PM you if that's ok with you

I haven't had a need for it, but keep in mind that it was released Nov 20. That's only about 10 days after the first Haxchi, and even before simple signature patcher. For a short time, it might have been significant (when people weren't used to channels, sigpatching and all that.)

Still not clear on what sigpatching have to do with this? I mean, from what I understand, the only way to run HBL.rpx is through HBL.elf .. right? So what does that acheive?
I get that it doesn't install as a channel, but what purpose does it serve?

You can install the rpx version to wiiu menu to dont launch homebrew launcher from browser exploit or haxchi after u apply signature patches or if u use cbhc

The ELF version is the original and the best, the one we used for ages. Gets loaded off an SD card.
The RPX version came next, before we actually had title installing (iirc) but wanted to prepare for it. Not installable on its own, and was only ever loaded off an SD.
The channel version is the RPX converted into an installable format and/or a forwarder. I'm not sure whether it comes off the SD card or not, could really go either way.

Great info guys.

So if I right to say that the rpx version is useless? Only the channel version and elf matter?

Also, while rpx does not need elf to launch, besides Haxchi, it still needs the elf or the channel to launch it, as it by itself doesn't launch through the browser from what I understand?

Right. Something has to run it, and Haxchi only does elfs. In the channel's case it's the system that runs it. It is the title's executable.

The channel doesn't run the rpx from SD, and like '644 said, it doesn't need the elf at all. It runs it from the title's code directory on NAND or USB, like the other titles run theirs. It'll start fine without an SD if you want to enjoy the bubble background without silly apps getting in the way.
