I got so bored of the wii u mode. I ordered a wiimote plus and a nunchuk. Might get an external hdd for wii games as well. The wii u mide of the system irritates me so much. It makes me feel depressed when i look at the home menu the wii u homebrew launcher etc. But the vWii is much better!

I like how you can zoom in on the channel in vWii, either than that I don't really miss it much.

Wii u has no good games. Where the hell is super mario galaxy 3?
No good games you say?
TMSxFE?
Xenoblade Chronicles X?
Pokkén Tournament/Pokémon Tekken?
Super Mario 3D World?
New Super Mario Bros. U?
Super Mario Maker?
Smash Bros.?
Zombi U?

Because the Wii U doesn't have the games you want it doesn't mean that the system hasn't got any good games

The wii u is the first Nintendo system that I've owned but not actually really used. I've owned and played the hell out of every other since the nes days.
I even moved the wii u to my kids bedroom and she only ever plays minecraft on it!!
I do think this is nintendos worst ever system but to say you actually get depressed when you look at the home menu, wow, if that's true you must have some real big problems in your head/life

i personally like both !

i find it awesome that we are able to play NGC and Wii on the WiiU ,its pretty sweet.

i just hope that all the games would go fullscreen, both NGC/Wii only some games go fullscreen for me, and seomtimes even the fullscreen games do not go fullscreen sometimes (guess due to some bug.)

otherwise it is pretty cool , i just wish the "Force Widescreen" 'Force 16:9' in the launchers would work.

i have only tried playing the games from SD though maybe that is why i cant get fullscreen patches to work properly, i have yet to try the HDD with Wii/NGC games.
might try it out today, if it works i would have to plug out my (WiiU USB games HDD). abit hassly but thats what is needed to be done.

You do have to take into the account that you (and I) are old ass grandpa now if you were there when NES was out...

Maybe try installing wiiflow as a channel. I use that, and is always full screen. Ever since that weird update on wii u, the wii Homebrew channel been stuck at 4:3 aspect. From what i was told, it has to do with the title id used for the channel, is one used for a Virtual console game which are all at that size, i never knew how to fix it since i just found installing wiiflow as channel and loading it, works. Of course it requires a wiiflow homebrew setup on your sd card or USB drive. But you can always load homebrew with it anyway, even if you do load homebrew channel from wiiflow is still 16:9 full screen. :P

only wiiflow plays Wii games from SD so i use that already and i do have a wad of it installed, and so that is what i actually use , but whenever i have for each game's setting ratio set to "Force 16:9" it still does not make the games go fullscreen :/

and Nintendont for my NGC games is always a hit or miss .. sometimes it goes fullscreen and often it just does not.
i have both Force Widescreen and WiiU Widescreen set to On for the NGC games on Nintendont.

but what setup do you mean ? i have a wiiflow folder in the root of my SD and the app inside the app.
can you tell me what version you use please?

i want to have the same, maybe it will solve the issue for me.

Did you miss that part? :creep:
Also it does not only work on SD, it works with usb as well. I know cause i use it all the time. Provided you already installed the right ios and use the specified usb slot on the back of the system and format the games to wbfs. As for gamecube games i use nintendon't, I have something called wiiflow master mod pack or whatever, it can load nintendon't from wiiflow and some other stuff. Include support for wii u pro controller as well which is why i started using wiiflow channel launcher more than homebrew channel. :D

hmm thanks, i will look it up now , i am afraid it is because of SD card, so i was thinking of trying to load the games off an HDD.
but by having it as a channel, i already do mate.

i have wiiflow in the menu of my vwii, i installed it some long while ago, i always start it from there, my vwii shows 16:9 , the vwii menu is fullscreen already, it is just the games that struggle going fullscreen.

i also have that mod pack you speak of, but i deleted most of its content as i do not need it.

I feel the same, specially depressed when I look at the Wii U catalog, the whole of it collecting dust on my bookshelf.
I sure find more joy on the Wii.

Well Then i guess you just need to change the wii flow settings, Just change it to default or system. If the vwii system options is set to 16:9 I had no problems with any size. Since i do use it often. You shouldn't have to force anything if is set up right. Just press home on wiiflow, check settings and change any screen settings to NTSC and System then load a game, (Check if each game you load says the same things.) It should work. Even the Nintendon't also work just as well you know. :P

Also check your game pad as well to see if there is a difference between your monitor.

funny thing is, i do not have access to much of the vwii settings.

when i am in vwii, i only see data management settings and channels.

edit: in wiiflow i only saw option to change settings to NTSC , but no option to set to system.
only under game settings i can choose system , and also ntsc.

edit2: no dice, tried changing to system in wiiflow settings and i had to manually change mode to system for the game i was launching, no fullscreen, i will try to set it to game -game now.

I wound up trading in my Wii U to get money off my Switch pre-order since I just wasn't using it but by the end I was just using my Wii U as a glorified Gamecube emulator.

Wii U had some good games but a few of the good titles were ported to 3DS and Mario Kart is getting ported to the Switch. The Wii U just felt lackluster.

What is the video settings of the wii u? That what i meant by system settings. Mine is HDMI 1080P 16:9. The wiiflow should have a video settings of "SYSTEM" What game are you running anyway, i may try it myself if you still aren't working.
