I have a Wii and this isn't the first time I've tried to mod one but something has somehow gone very wrong. I was following steps on some guide and when I was supposed to install priiloader I kept getting ios36 not es_identity patched. So I used wii mod (v3.2) to es_identity patch it and somehow I ended up with an upside down hbc and an error in Wii mod saying BRICK ALERT - Missing System Menu IOS - BRICK ALERT.

I don't know where to go from here so I just stopped before I do any further damage. I have the nand and keys backed up also before this happened.

If you can still boot to HBC, just download your System Menu with the correct version and region in Wad format and install it.

This will most likely fix anything, if no, then just execute syscheck and generate the report, and drag and drop it to ModMii. it willl generate the missing IOS.

Btw did you made a Nand Backup? and still have it?

Hi yeah I still have the nand backup I done one just in case something like this happened. I'll look for a guide on this site when I fix it and make sure I follow everything exactly like it says.

If you got a nand back up via BootMii, and you can access bootmii with the reset button, then just easily restore your nand using the restore function on BootMii.
As simply as it sounds.

Thanks for the help. I must've been looking at an ancient guide (it's been years since I've modded a wii). I restored my nand and that fixed the system, then I went ahead and used modmii which was a lot easier than what I was trying to do. Everything seems ok now and usb loader is installed too.

You can also post a SysCheck log here in order for me to check it out, and see if you are missing something ;D

Thanks. I'll get a log later and post it. Just busy trying to mod a new 3ds xl all day it kept me busy lol.

I noticed the homebrew channel won't load through bootmii I just get a black screen but it loads up fine from the system or priiloader. Anyway I'll post the log later when I get around to it just in case.

Sorry I had that much to do yesterday and only got a chance to get that now. I'll attach it to this post.

Converted to .txt file I couldn't upload the .csv and didn't wanna paste the whole thing out taking up most of the forum page lol.

That looks ok to me. The main things I look at is whether IOS58 is present and unpatched and there's a recent cIOS in 249/250.

It's just been years since I've last modded one and this was given to me. Thanks for the help. I used to actually skip nand backups years ago because it "took too long". It's a good thing I grew out of that now otherwise I'd hava a nice doorstop.

I've never had to use my backup but I keep a copy of it locally and on OneDrive just in case. :)

Syscheck its alright, hermes could be v5, but d2x are v8, which are the latest good compilation of them. so stick with those.

So yeah, everything in your wii, its ok to me, now that you restored the nand backup, keep it safe on somewhere ;D

Will do thanks. Same with my 3ds consoles. I won't be skipping nand backups anymore because that 5 minutes can save so much hassle :)
