Hi,

i have a Wii running 4.2E with a mod made 7 years ago. Everything is running smoothly with the Homebrew and the USB Loader from back then. I don't know the details, because friend of mine helped me, so not sure witch mod we exactly used.

Yesterday i decided to update the USB Loader because one Game didn't want to Load. The Loader could not update trough the console vie internet, so i just downloaded the latest version and overwritten the "boot.dol". The loader started fine, i just had to download the covers again.
But the problem is that all my game saves are not recognized by the Loader?

I used "SaveGame Manager GX" and i can see the game saves on the Wii.

Can you please help me out with some hints? This is the console of my son and now he's devastated:)

The version shown in the Credits of the Loader is Rev1262 IOS249 (rev14).

Maybe i need to update the whole MOD, but don't want to brick the wii?

btw. that didn't resolve the problem with the game load, and of course i tried to get back the old boot.dol, but i get errors when loading the old loader?

many, many thanks!

Check in the "Loader Settings" and make sure you don't have "Nand Saves Emulation" turned on if you are trying to use saves from your console's memory.

Your wii missed a lot of the new cIOS like IOS249 [56], IOS250[57], your Homebrew Channel 1.0.1 is not the last update. My recommendation will be to update all your stuffffff with modmii for your 4.2 system menu. After that, all will be smooth for you.....

Hi, I don't know for Mac, I'm using windows... But if you able to get all d2x v8 files for IOS249 [56], IOS250[57], just install it, it will install above what you have and it will not brick your wii. Maybe someone using a mac can help you soon.

@Maximumbeans, Indeed. I've been working on getting this Infecutus chip to work on my PS2. But after soldering, I realised that a plastic piece was missing from the power ribbon cable to the power and eject buttons.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Now I could go with soldering the contacts from the cable to the connector on the mobo, but doesn't sound like a good permanent solution.

Man, that's beyond my brain  I'm no good with hardware for now. I'd like to get into hardmods in future though

@Maximumbeans, Maybe start practice soldering. Get a cheap-ass soldering iron and follow some good YouTube tutorials.

Least my experience has gotten better than over a decade ago. My iron would constantly bump into components and break them.
  • Maximumbeans @ Maximumbeans:
Sounds good. I actually did soldering but like 16 years ago for school so uuuuh probably rusty haha
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Maximumbeans, Same here. I did soldering at school from a teacher who I honestly liked since he had plenty of good electronics experience.
