nope, you're fine just being on sysnand. emunand is actually more complicated and less safe nowadays.

how is it complicated and what is emunand for? does it come with every 3DS like sysnand?

Not exactly less safe, if you use A9LH either way, but it's more impractical and has no advantages to the majority of people.

Emuand is like your sysnand, but you install it to the sd card instead of the nand chip. It functions practically the same, and it was used back before a9lh, when sysnand had to stay on 9.2. Nowadays, Emunand is more of a hinderance than a help, as it makes you have to install dsiware and gba games to sysnand and emunand in order for them to work. It also takes up a whopping 2 gbs of the sd card.

Safe wasn't the right word ik. The only use i could emunand being useful is if nintendo can ever detect the installation of a9lh, which i doubt. The reason it should help is the emunand partitions\'s firm0 and firm1 partitions theoretically should be clean, and undetectable.

but wouldnt the emunand partitions's firm0 and firm1 partitions be untouched, making a9lh undetectable?
Yeah I guess you're right. I was thinking in context of people that use emuNAND because they're afraid to touch their sysNAND. I didn't think about it enough before commenting :-)

600 title limit

Dual regions

Out of region banners

Technically safer than sysnand

I still use it :P

valid enough, i'll give it to you, but only t=since you're insane enough to have 300 titles and still have room on the sd card for an emunand. Then again i never properly deleted my rednand and i'm closing in on the 300 limit myself.

The main difference is 100% boot rates and chainloading applications before the 3ds boots, which is useful for softbricks and some hard bricks since you can ctr transfer 9.2 then reupdate using decrypt 9,or use a NAND backup with hourglass9.You can also use chainloading for ctrbootmanager through a9lh to boot other cfw's without having to rename your arm9loaderhax.bin file, aswell as injecting gb,gbc and gba games without injecting to both nands.

You're wrong. EmuNAND doesn't mean lack of A9LH.

emuNANDs were really just used to protect your CFW. But with A9LH and FIRM0/1 protection, there's no reason to keep using an emuNAND. They take up space and end up taking up more space if you want to install GBA/DSi apps and games.
