Long answer: No, it's not a simple copy paste, there's a lot of work involved to add a national dex to S/M, while theoretically it's possible it's not likely that someone will make that effort. It doesn't matter that Pokemon Bank has a national dex, it would have to be reimplemented from scratch in S/M.
Do we really have to pay for just a pokédex? Shame on you nintendo and GAME FREAK too.

Owning a DS/3DS and complaining about spending $5 per year is a pretty moot point. That's literally a drink at starbucks, one meal, a pack of pokemon cards... Etc. If it was $5/month I could understand (maybe) but $5 a YEAR? I mean even if you're 12 you should get allowance or something, buy a $10 eShop card once in 12 months Lol.
Actually I don't think you need to pay for a license for the national dex. I don't have one anymore and I went on yesterday and was able to access the bank, and thus the Pokedex. I tihnk you can access the bank but not actually do anything with it.
You couldn't complete the dex in XY either without using PokéTransfer + Bank to get previous generation Pokémon until ORAS came out and the event only Pokémon were re-released. So it's not very different. If you don't have a subscription you can still access the Bank and view the Pokédex, just can't store Pokémon on it. Though I do wish they just had the national dex right in the game :C

i know. but in gen 6 people actually had a reason to use pokemon bank, because they could transfer pokemon from an older game to reach an end goal, in gen 7 there is none of that, so there's no reason to pay for bank. or to even buy the older games for that matter. so in business terms, it's a loss.
and there are still a massive number of people who don't play exclusively for the battles. myself included
Ah, you're saying there's no incentive to complete the National Dex because there isn't one. Once you complete the Alola dex that's it, only reason for using Bank would be to get favorite Pokémon from earlier generations which you could like do by trade with someone else who did use Bank, is that right?
